Question about PA Memorial

OK, I gotta jump in here. First off, I will admit that 9 out of 10 times PAM would have beaten us but all the stars aligned and our kids wanted it worse. PAM's Achille's heel is their coaching, plain and simple and Jeff out coached Harrison, period. Xbox has talent EVERY year, it's just putting it together. Vidor has a kid go off to play D1 ball about every 10 years; Harrison has 5 or 6 every year so no matter what his record is, give Mathews his due. Besides 14.2; he has a winning record since 2009; it took a while to build the program. I think his big mistake was playing Crosby Thursday night; our kids were pretty beat up after the PAM game and about half of the Vidor fans couldn't come. It was a much closer game than you want to make it out to be...however Crosby won and deservedly so. I think all of you make issue of this who beat who stuff when these are 16 - 18 year old kids who, on any given night with a little inspiration, can make crazy things happen. The annuals of Texas football are filled with those stories; it's what makes our Friday night religion so special.

Rob. We were up by two scores the whole second half? Now it was 11 and 9 for most of that but that's still a TD and FG. We also ran the ball at you when we got it back up two scores to waste the clock. Y'all are a good team but your not being realistic if your evaluating that game as "closer than it was" it was a 2 score game, could y'all have scored absolutely but that would have changed Crosby's Math on what we needed to do to win. I'll give you a hint if you had scored the cougars would have thrown the ball in the 4th instead of run, run pass, punt. Netherly would have been let loose instead of giving the ball to Los 3-4 plays. So if you want your props thats cool. Crosby would have beat Porter 9-10 times to but neither of those things happened.

I was giving y'all credit man. Kronos was trying to marginalize getting their head beat in. Mathews record is what it is, I was just pointing that out because no matter how good he thinks PAM might be you have to take into consideration all aspects of the game and that night he got outcoached. Same way he would have against PNG if they had some athletes. As far as the Crosby vs Vidor game I guess it's just how you look at it? I'm sure you were pleased because Vidor played a solid game. I was pleased because Vidor was a solid team and had it not been for two tds called back and the dumb late safety we gave up the score in that game is probably 47-22 which gave me optimism moving forward after playing against someone's district champion like that. I felt the same way in 2011 you did in last week where you play and undefeated squad, knock them off in a physical game then have to turn around on a week night and drive 70 miles for a playoff game. Only thing that hurts Vidor is that offense isn't plug and play meaning you need personnel yearly, another thing I saw is that Mathews loads up the offense at the expense of the defense.

OKAY GLASS LICKER...the first year they played PAM yes it was brutal. Second year, they was not down, we won 7-6 in the mud bowl.the next year they won. the next year after that we won over in their stadium. after that they finished beating us in CLOSE games. you are soooo but hurt that crosby is yesterdays trash lol...getting beat by a team that passes to one WR smh

Lol, NS punked y'all 66-7 the first time y'all lined up and they punked y'all 38-7 the last time y'all lined up. When North Shore goes 8-4 that's considered a down year for a squad that hasn't lost a bi-district game since 1999, obviously after going 3-7 back to back years 8-4 would be a considerable improvement at PAM. You got blasted on a regular by North Shore and dropped down to 5A and got blasted by Vidor who attempted two passes. Say whatever you need to make yourself feel better though Mouse, we're about to get our 40th win in four years Friday night. Just make sure you don't get punked against Elkins like y'all did the last time and a in the district championship game.

please do not respond to me coward. that was a good play, BUT doing trick plays and playing people out of position is a quick way for bad things to go wrong, (see vidor). Porter was a very bad team to begin with...btw, when are you and xbox expecting??

Ok. Putting the fastest guy on the field and getting him the ball is a bad idea. Yep. A lot of teams would hate to be able to do that

That was kinda my thinking.

You guys need to watch some Denton Ryan film... Richmond Foster is good too. Hell... Temple is a good team IMO.

I think Foster would give y'all more trouble than Denton Ryan would. Ryan just get too many points scored on them for it not to catch up with them at some point. Foster is a beast this year and one of the few teams in 5A that can match y'all person for person on the line of scrimmage. I like Ryan a lot but they're very qb-centric, Foster and Manvel are probably the most complete teams if you take into consideration both sides of the ball.

What a lot of you don't understand though 14.2 is when you go from absolutely NO program to a playoff team every two - three years; that is something! It took Jeff a few years of trial and error to see what would work with our kids and get the philosphy all the way down to the little leagues. I've looked at Crosby's history and you guys haven't always had the glam years you do now, that takes time. I would love to see what a Westerberg could do at a school like Vidor but it ain't never gonna happen...we don't have the tax base to pay for it. Mathews is one of the highest paid coaches in our area, though. Personally, I don't see any of our teams getting any better because unlike your area, ours is shrinking. And, unless the refining business or some other industry decides to move here and upgrade, it will continue to do so. I doubt that Crosby will even be in the same division after the next realignment; most of our schools with the exception of PAM are under 1600 kids so this will be a DII district.

Foster gave up 41 points to Terry! That's a problem when playing Manvel or Cedar Park.
