The Newton Eagles continue their journey through the Class 3A, Division II state playoffs as they take on the Elysian Fields Yellowjackets in this Region III Semifinal.  W.T. Johnston's Eagles, 12-0 on the season, advanced to this round with a 66-0 win over Waskom followed by an area round 50-7 win over Buffalo. Meanwhile, the Yellowjackets, 12-0 on the season and champions of District 9-3A-II, advanced to this round with a 48-14 bi-district win over Garrison followed by a 63-21 area round win over Jewett Leon.

The winner of this game will face the winner of the Crockett/Arp game which is also being played tonight.
