DeuceSixSuited
Didn't Bruce Newton lead the district in interceptions? Not only the district, but the area??

No doubt one of the most passionate athletes (Good & Bad) I have witnessed play at Silsbee. Hope his football days continue at the next level. CardinalBacker
I firmly believe that coaches remember kids and their behavior as well as the plays they make. Bruce spent a large portion of our game jawing at our sideline. Not sure that stuff like that SHOULD have an effect in voting, but I'll bet it does. BADSANTA
For Newton to be 2nd team is a slap in the face.
CardinalBacker
Ah, the annual Silsbee crying fit that happens when Silsbee doesn't sweep All-District and the Willie Ray Smith Awards. Last year Qb Thomas was the one getting slapped in the face when passed over for the Willie Ray Smith award.

I'd have to check, but I'm certain that BC's Zach Honeycutt had that many INTs and still ended up on the 2nd team All District. He had three against Huffman alone. I guess he got slapped, too. BMTSoulja1
I also agree that Newton got hosed. he lead the district in interceptions and prob a my the most pass deflections. I think he's caused a few fumbles as well...2nd team? That's horrible... the kid's personality shouldn't affect Hsu play on the field... BMTSoulja1
Now that I think about it, are the stats for the entire 10 season or just those 5 district games? Aaw, maybe you can fill us in...
