AggiesAreWe
One of the more impressive teams I have seen this year is the Leggett Pirates. Coach Stewart is doing a tremendous job with his team. They are 8-1 overall after going 5-0 and winning the championship at the West Sabine tourney. They defeated West Sabine twice, Burkeville, Kirbyville and in the finals defeated a very good Shelbyville team, 60-50. These wins all over much bigger schools and teams. When I say much bigger teams, not so much the size of the players, but the amount of players. You see, Leggett only has 6 players on their team. SIX!! I spoke with Coach Stewart after their win over West Sabine Friday and I asked if he had players out. His reply, "I wish". The six he has is the six he will have for entire season. Incredible!! Speaking of his six players. His starting 5 is very good, with 4 of those that can lead the team in scoring in any game. Two of those are very special in #24 and #42. #24 is a '6"3 wing player who will be a complete match up nightmare for any team at the 1A level. He can score off the dribble, can post up and shoot from outside. #42 is a '6"5 post player that looks like he could play TE/DE for many 4A or above football teams. He has good touch around basket, very good rebounding skills and is a shot blocking machine. Both very impressive. I will definitely keep my eye on this team. Just hope for no injury because that would be devastating for this team. Hagar, BS Wildcats and KHSAlum400
no-look
I saw some of their scores and was really impressed. With six players they must be really disciplined to make it through games and still be successful.

Coach Stewart made adjustments to their defense and subbed the six man in accordingly. They were still able to keep some pressure but played it very smart.
