THIS is the reason WO-S can play a smaller defensive front line. Some people think this is like the NCAA or NFL where you have to have a defensive front that is just as big or comparable in size to compete with a big offensive line. Not true in the way WO-S plays. Navarro had two huge 300+ pounders at tackle, big guards and a center with good size, too. WO-S whipped those boys at the line of scrimmage. It was the same way against Celina last year. This is all accomplished because the players are taught good technique in the use of their hands and feet, as well as an uncompromising demand on all 11 players to pursue the ball carrier. In a nutshell, that is the secret to WO-S's defensive success spanning all of the years Cornel Thompson has been here.

I have said for a few years now that the key and big reason WOS has handled my Tigers so well as been the speed of the defensive line.  I am somewhat surprised that teams don't watch the success of that defense and try to mimic it as best they can.  The thought of putting the big majority of your best athletes on the defense and limiting the scoring of the opponent.  Instead of trying to put big numbers of points on the board,  keep that other team fro scoring many at all.

This is td. JD3 doesn't post here.

I can confirm that. Because if nd finds out that td let jd post here and that I didn't remove it, then she would whip td, then come to Baytown and whip her older brother's namesake.

At AT&T stadium, what time they will open for tickets? Also, what time they will open the gate to enter and parking? I am trying to find the info and could not find anything. Anyone know this and would appreciate if anyone know.

Go Mustangs!!!

Not only that, I don't want to ever have my name on anyone else's words. Not even my boys. I'm not naive enough to think they haven't ever looked and read here. However, I would tell them as I would tell anyone else, if you feel strong enough about something to post it in an open forum then put your name on it. That and I don't need any problems with momma. Lol

Much easier said than done.

Thanks for posting the video.  Sweetwater is impressive.  They look like they are well fed and strong kids.  The team speed is above average but no where near WO-S's speed.  The sweetwater qb has very nice accuracy.   The offensive scheme for them is really nice.  They give you a ton of looks and will be tough to game plan.

What I saw that doesn't bode well for sweetwater is the amount of pressure that Gilmer put on the qb,  and that WO-S secondary is night and day better than Gilmer's.   This means Sweetwater will be running a ton of bubble screen and gimmicky plays.  Probably score a couple touchdowns simple because they do what they do so well.

Defensively they play their assignments very well but they will have no luck containing the athletes of WOS.

WO-S has a way of making very good teams look average.  I don't see that changing this week.

My prediction- Final Score.   WOS - 48.26 / Sweetwater - 28.36

Trivia question. Sweetwater has only lost in one State Final to date. Who beat them, when was it and is anyone here old enough to remember? Hint: Two State Title games were played in the Golden Triangle the same day that year 10 miles apart. One local won, one lost.
