stevenash Posted December 23, 2016 Report Posted December 23, 2016 And they obviously still don't get it because they still believe their ideas are better but were impacted by the Russians and James Comey. I guess that is why they re- elected Nancy Pelosi which is akin to rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Quote

She's about gone since she was so sure Trump would not win the election. Has not been on here near as much since then. She must be spending a lot of time in Waco receiving counseling. Quote

westend1 Posted December 25, 2016 Report Posted December 25, 2016 Hillary didn't get elected because small, unpopulated states have a larger say in the process. I like the system. I hope Trump does well. bullets13, LumRaiderFan, Englebert and 1 other 4 Quote
Big girl Posted December 26, 2016 Report Posted December 26, 2016 I think EVERY vote should count. Trump did too, according to a statement he made in 2012. Quote

Can you name a vote that didn't count? Please point out someone's vote that didn't count. I bet you can't name a single one. If you are playing volleyball and score 25 points in the first game, do any of those points not count? Same as in tennis. Your lack of understanding of the Electoral College system is mind-boggling, especially when the system has been analyzed on every talk show since the election. I guess that's what happens when your only source of "news" is far left political hack sources. Should a few big cities with no diversity of thought dictate who governs the rest of the country? Quote
tvc184 Posted December 26, 2016 Report Posted December 26, 2016 The Republicans did not campaign in California. They were not going to spend millions and millions of dollars in the state they knew they could not win. Could they have swung some votes the other way? Sure they could. It is called smart politics. Our elections were set up by the Constitution intentionally to make each state count individually. Trump knew that and Clinton knew that. Trump had a smarter team. Hillary was the worst candidate. Why does that matter? If you take California out of the mix, Trump won by almost one and a half million votes. That's right. In 49 states total Trump was the winner. Even with New York being heavily Democratic, when you mix that in with 48 other states Trump still comes out more than 1 million votes ahead. That he is not to minimize California but why are they more important than anyone else? The Republicans wisely did not spend money swinging some votes over in California as they did in Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan. What it had changed some votes? Almost without a doubt that is true. The question is why would it be needed when the Republicans simply allowed California to go democratic and did not waste the money. Trump pushed hard in state they said he could not win. He proved what heavy campaigning, huge crowds and money would mean when he took states that Obama had previously taken. To let's refresh our knowledge. In 49 states including New York Donald Trump won by over 1 million popular votes. In one state where an overwhelming majority that went against the national vote. Smart campaigning by the Republicans knew that and won the election within the rules and for the very reason the Constitution was laid out like it was. Big girl and others of her ilk 30 years from now will be crying about the equivalent of losing the Super Bowl but claiming your team should have won because they had the most first downs. Quote
stevenash Posted December 26, 2016 Report Posted December 26, 2016 Trump campaigned vigorously until the last minute in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Hillary, believing ( along with all the other "enlightened" experts) made no effort in these states late in the campaign cycle.. Bottom line, she was outworked and outsmarted by Trump. If the election had been based on the popular vote, my guess is Trump would have, once again, outsmarted and outworked Hillary and would have won that one also. Quote
Hagar Posted December 27, 2016 Author Report Posted December 27, 2016 And that big margin in California. You don't suppose a lot of Trump voters stayed home knowing Trump appeared he already had it won? That, or since they know it's dominated by liberal weirdos, their vote wouldn't change the state outcome. Quote

Without a doubt...Hillary has never had to really work hard at earning something, and it showed...she got her butt kicked by a much more capable opponent...thank God. JWB 1 Quote
