Most would give Bench the nod for sure if you were talking about catching and hitting (even though Pudge was a good hitter).

If you were talking purely catching, many would give that to Pudge...I'm quite sure the opposing baserunners would.

Defensively, tough to beat Pudge.  You're right about that.  You are correct I was talking overall.  My favorite growing up was Thurman Munson but Bench was the best to me.
