Dallas Trades- Romo (cap relief), swaps 1st rounders with 49ers (2nd overall), and a 2nd 49ers Trades- 2nd Overall pick Dallas would then have the pick of the elite DE or CB. My pick would be Marshon Lattimore who is a true shut down CB. You know more players than I care to keep up with. I only have so much RAM. Lol I want a defensive end to go with Irving. If they cut Romo after June 1st., they save an extra $8 million towards the cap, as I recall. Quote

Dallas wants too much and doesn't want to package picks needed to make a deal. IMO, out of the first 20 some odd picks before Dallas, at least ten of them will be DB or DE, so there won't be a top guy there. They need to try and find a way to trade into the top 15 at least. He and Sean Lee should tear the league a new one. Still need a pass rusher. Blitzes are ok when called properly, but when it is the only way for you to get pressure and you don't get the sack, someone is very open. Quote

It will be extremely difficult for that to happen though with the nerve not firing. Add the fact that he has to wear this funky brace that limits his movements, it will be tough. 25% speed loss and 45% power loss is going to be difficult for anybody to overcome. Quote
Ty Cobb Posted March 8, 2017 Report Posted March 8, 2017 FRISCO, Texas – The Cowboys have re-signed Brice Butler on the eve of free agency, keeping the four-year veteran receiver in Dallas. Terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed. Arriving in a 2015 trade with the Oakland Raiders, Butler has appeared in 23 games with Dallas over the last two seasons, catching 28 passes for 477 yards and three touchdowns. The Cowboys’ wide receiver depth is still a unclear, though, with Terrance Williams set to become an unrestricted free agent when the new league year begins Thursday at 3 p.m. Central Time. Butler was also set to be an unrestricted free agent Thursday. Speaking at the Senior Bowl in January, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said the team would like to re-sign both receivers. Williams’ future is unclear, but Butler’s return gives the Cowboys a wideout with starting experience. A hamstring injury limited Butler to seven games in 2015, but last season he stepped up in three starts for an injured Dez Bryant. Two of his three touchdowns came in starts against the San Francisco 49ers, Cincinnati Bengals and Green Bay Packers. Quote
bullets13 Posted March 8, 2017 Report Posted March 8, 2017 Well, Romo is going to be released tomorrow. Hopefully he ends up with a contender and has one or two more shots at a super bowl. He only had a team capable of winning a ring a couple of times during his career, and got screwed by the "catch/not catch" one year, and hurt another other. I'll never understand the hate for Romo. His clutch numbers were through the roof, and the only reason he had so many "chokes" was because the awful team around him constantly put him in situations where 28-35 points wasn't enough, and he performed fantastically in situations where he needed a game winning or tying drive, despite the rhetoric from the haters. Dallas fans are spoiled, and many of them are too stupid to understand that he's the ONLY reason Dallas has had any relevance for the last 12 or so years, and that without him they're a 4-6 win team every year. That he played the first decade of his career behind one of the worst O-lines in the league, and still put up fantastic numbers while running for his life. That his team had a top-10 statistical defense ONCE in his career, and for most of it a garbage running game as well. Etc. Etc. Etc. And I'll never understand the hate towards him for not winning a ring. During the course of his career at dallas, there were 14 superbowls played, and only 8 qbs won at least one. 10 of the championships during that time were won by 4 qbs. It's not like it's some easy feat that Romo just couldn't manage because he sucked. While I understand that a superbowl is the main goal of every franchise, it's not prudent to hold a great player, who played great for your team, responsible for the shortcomings of those around him (from the owner on down). I for one wish Tony the best of luck wherever he ends up, and have thoroughly enjoyed watching him lead the cowboys for the last decade or so. STiger85 and Ty Cobb 2 Quote

He will be missed. However, I have no qualms in saying that Dak is the future and I'm behind him 100%. Lots of QBs end their careers with other teams. Denver looks to be a good spot even though I don't think their defense was as good last season. Good luck Tony. LumRaiderFan and bullets13 2 Quote

king Posted March 10, 2017 Report Posted March 10, 2017 Dallas better work on that defense. They seem to be losing players Quote
Coach85 Posted March 11, 2017 Report Posted March 11, 2017 With them letting all these defensive guys go is that a sign of what this years draft will be focused on. I hope so because they weren't deep with talent at any position. Quote
