Prescott is not an elite QB who you turn the game over to. For whatever reason the play calling is so pass happy its ridiculous. I think he could be if he had some protection. Not sure it's the loss of Free that did it. Free had too many holding calls. Our offense was getting the job done early. Can’t figure why OCs tend to get cute with their play calling. We were ahead. Why pass except on 3rd down? I like to run the ball down opponent’s throats. If Zeke needs a breather, insert Morris, who ain't no slouch. Tigers2010 1 Quote
STiger85 Posted October 5, 2017 Report Posted October 5, 2017 Dak is not an elite QB, but he doesn't have many steps to take to get there. That's why is said in an earlier post teams will crowd the box making Dallas throw the ball to beat you. Last year Dallas had a 4-12 schedule to play this year Dallas is playing a 13-3 schedule. Dallas is a good team but if they don't grow and progress like they are going to have to do they will not get very far with this years schedule. Six points in the second half against the Rams is not acceptable, even though you put up thirty for the game. Got to play as a whole team. Offense did get on the plane to Denver and the defense stayed in the locker room after half time in Dallas last week. Quote

He is very talented and could get there, but is not there yet. And the play calling, thus far, leads you to believe he is. It is hard to blame an offensive line that has 3 pro bowl guys playing there. Any line, who is asked to defend the pass 30+ times a game is going to give up a couple of mistakes. Quote
TXHORN_ET Posted October 8, 2017 Report Posted October 8, 2017 One would think the packers were the home team today with how loud the crowd seems to be reacting in their favor. Quote

Aces_Full Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 Defense is garbage. OLine is over-rated. Teams are stacking the line and daring Dallas to beat them through the air. Dez is not elite. Greg Jennings had a good piece on him. Says he can't get off the line against a jam, and can't create separation. Dak played well yesterday, but has not been very accurate for most of the year, and has very little explosive plays (+20 yards). They have lost 2 straight at home, and got embarrassed on the road in another. They are just not a very good football team right now. And I don't see how that changes anytime in the near future. Long season. Quote

Long season. I agree with some of your assessment but not all. I agree that the defense is not very good. I think most COWBOYS fans knew this would be a rough year defensively . Too much turnover in the secondary. The defensive line is starting to get pressure and the LB's, with Sean Lee healthy and on the field, are pretty good. Remember, there are only 2 returning starters in the secondary(Byron Jones and Anthony Brown) and both are young players. There is no doubt that teams are stacking the box and saying, "beat us through the air" I agree that Dez is not an elite WR. He's good, but not elite. He makes hustle plays and is very good across the middle. I do not agree with you on the offensive line. I don't think they are overrated at all. This is a very good offensive line. There are 2 new starters on the line at left guard and right tackle and they are constantly facing/trying to block 6 and 7 man fronts. This is why running lanes are closing faster this year and why Dak is under more pressure. One thing that I'm having trouble figuring out is why does the offense look so good in the 1st half of games and like crap in the 2nd half. Time of possession and points have been few and far between in the 2nd half of the last two games. GO COWBOYS!!! Quote

Aces_Full Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 Shoulda burned some more time on last offensive drive. Giving the best QB in football over a minute of clock (he is unbelievable) was a death sentence. And their OLine is over-rated. Not nearly as good as the previous 2 seasons. 2 new starters, which were down grades, and a less than healthy Tyron Smith. Teams don't respect Dak to beat them through the air. So they load up. Quote
