Silsbee 2 Little Cypress-Mauriceville 0/FINAL

This is a very disturbing situation to me. I hate to see young men put themselves in compromising situations. Silsbee  has  has been the trademark for setx basketball the past few seasons, a team full of players that have become household names across the community.  they all have to know teams that have no chance of winning are going to do everything in their power to ruin their season. and further more their individual chances of moving on to play on the next level.

I will say this I USED to be a HUGE McCain fan, after seeing the video that I saw, I am no longer. Very cowardly act. Huge difference in my book of protecting yourself and sucker punching someone 50 feet from the skirmish

I could easily see an assault charge stemming from this, if he were my kid I would absolutely file. The video does not lie

One4all is a jerk. Mr. Face hand check? I will say I seen the video and I agree that #3 for Silsbee should be punished for his actions. What he did was cowardly and uncalled for. Adams should be suspended and neither should Tyler. They were being attacked by LCM players. I don't condone any other action last night. This could cost Silsbee big time. I find it very disheartening for the community.

I've seen no one from LCM on here defending any actions at all by anyone from their community. Only apologies and regrets. Silsbee on the other hand is using everything they can to place blame else where. Like the guy posted earlier, if you have problems with everyone you play then you might want to look in the mirror. And no, it isn't because you are so awesome that everyone looses their mind when they play you. This area has had many basketball teams go to the state tournament. None were on probation for fighting (like Silsbee). None had players suspended for fighting (Silsbee will). None had confrontations with almost every opponent they play (like Silsbee does).

I too have seen the video. Let me be the first to defend the LCM kids. Get slapped in the face (which drew a technical foul at the time, no one is mentioning that, for those of you wondering who started it, might be the person who drew the first technical foul), then give a half slap in return that missed by 3 feet. Only to have the guy then throw a haymaker your way. Luckily a team mate stopped him from landing it. IMO I never saw an LCM player throw a "punch". #0 simple went in high to stop the kid from decking his team mate (did catch him in the face though). Then the Silsbee player threw another haymaker.

I won't even touch on what #3 from Silsbee did. Except to say he should probably be facing criminal charges, and if he suits up again for Silsbee the school should be embarrassed.

Silsbee may lose one for the year but still has a fantastic team. Jones III will be back and Bush and Newton will anchor the point. Adams won't be gone but for a game or so. He is a very quit young man and never bothers anyone. For #0 for LCM to punch is a straight bitch move. LCM has been against Silsbee in all sports. I heard they filed a greivence with the UIL for and illegal player during football season. Also, they recorded our baseball team and sent the footage to our opponents. They were getting blasted in basketball and wanted to fight. It never would have  started if #0 wouldn't have threw that punch.

This really bothers me.  I am a huge fan of this young man.  I hope he realizes from this what just a rash decision in a few seconds can cost you.  It reminds me a lot of the qb jumping on the players ankle in football.  Punishment will be dealt,  not sure exactly what it will or should be.  I hate to see a young mans future suffer big consequences from a bad decision in such a situation.

As far as the rest of the situation it was one of those that happen many times.  It was handled quickly and well.  That gym is one where it could get out of hand quickly, not much space around the floor.  Hopefully this can be put behind us and we can go on.  We all have to remember these are kids that still  need our guidance, support and teaching. They have to deal with the repercussions of their actions.  Hopefully the lessons will be learned.

Videotaped baseball practice are something? All games are recorded.  I highly doubt Crouch would go to Uil for a illegal player we can barely get 2nd half adjustments

Folks, these are kids who did very dumb things and should be appropriately punished.  But let's be careful with all this jail and criminal charges talk.  Let the respective districts have a chance to mete out punishments.

Personally, I'm sick about this whole ordeal.  Good kids on both sides made some serious mistakes that I'm sure they wish they could take back.  As for the one drawing most of the ire (and not undeservingly), I've known the kid for several years, love the kid, and know he's better than that.  But you can't do what he did any time, any place or for any reason.

My prayers are for the coaches and administrators tasked with making very tough decisions and for the kids who will hopefully take stock and learn some very serious life lessons from this ordeal.

Once again number 3 punched a bc kid in the back of the head, but that thread was locked for some reason instead of addressing the issue.

I agree I had seen that and thought maybe it was an "assumption" but then spoke with a friend that said it was a OBVIOUS punch to the back of the head that was unseen, uncalled, and not videoed. Yet this time it is caught on video and an apology is submitted. Burn me once shame on you burn me twice shame on me. I won't be burnt twice 2 in one season in my book is a pattern.

It's on video, I watched it personally from a bc film.

I am sure both coaches have it

There was a situation with WOS, then Bridge City, and now LCM.  Same kid, same actions.  When is somebody going to take real disciplinary action?  What lessons are being taught by letting this go?

If those 2 were handled then he may not be where he is today...I blame the coach also for not handling these things correctly...evidently
