2HandSlam Posted February 12, 2017 Report Posted February 12, 2017 92 points is 92 points, but that was a cherry picking extravaganza! Hagar and BMTSoulja1 2 Quote
TxHoops Posted February 12, 2017 Report Posted February 12, 2017 I have seen snowbirding like that since 2013-14 Silsbee.... BMTSoulja1, BADSANTA and Tyler Dixson 3 Quote
AthleticSupporter - Jock Posted February 12, 2017 Report Posted February 12, 2017 Not everybody was happy with the performance. Los Osos coach Dave Smith called it "a joke," Smith said Chino Hills players fouled on purpose to prevent his team from running out the clock and stopping Ball from scoring more. "That's wrong," Smith said. "It goes against everything CIF [California Interscholastic Federation] stands for. The Ball boys are very talented and great players, but it's embarrassing to high school athletics. I've been coaching for 35 years, and we've turned high school athletics into individualism. "It's amazing to watch a kid score that many points. But it's tough to say that's what CIF athletics is about." Quote
BMTSoulja1 Posted February 12, 2017 Report Posted February 12, 2017 The opposite team's coach should be ashamed to allow a kid to just snowbird like that the whole game. At what point were you going to leave a kid back on defense? BLUEDOVE3, TxHoops and ST413 3 Quote

I didn't get to play a lot, so when my friends and I got in we competed to see who could foul out first. Quote
Hagar Posted February 12, 2017 Author Report Posted February 12, 2017 I couldn't score 92 if I was in the gym by myself. Quote

winwin Posted February 13, 2017 Report Posted February 13, 2017 Good for him! If you dont want someone to put up 92 on you, stop him! If you are the opposing coach and have a problem with it, find another profession. Hagar, BMTSoulja1 and no-look 3 Quote

Pumper Posted February 13, 2017 Report Posted February 13, 2017 You're sort of right, but you're also wrong. You as a coach would not have allowed it, whether the kid was on your team or your opponent. It was not basketball; it was a layup contest to see how many points the kid could score. Was a joke. If it was your son or mine, they wouldn't have wanted any part of it either, because it didn't mean anything. Our sons would rather score when it meant something, in the context of a real competitive game. Quote
oldschool2 Posted February 13, 2017 Report Posted February 13, 2017 But...Did they win? No, but seriously. It's pretty embarrassing to have an opposing player hang 92 on you. Whether you're the coach or a player is irrelevant to me. By the way, I hope that kid doesn't think it'll be that easy to score in the NCAA. Good grief... Quote
Tigers2010 Posted February 13, 2017 Report Posted February 13, 2017 I have no issue with running up the score or scoring as many points as you can, but to be winning and intentionally fouling the trailing team to stop the clock is ridiculous. Quote

BIG SHOW Posted February 13, 2017 Report Posted February 13, 2017 Not impressed!!! I can find a dozen of players from SETX that would of scored 92 points in that game. If I worked for ESPN I wouldn't of even reported the points because of the manner in which he did it. Smh. AthleticSupporter - Jock 1 Quote

But if I were the opposing coach, I wouldnt have complained about it. Thats more the point I was trying to make. Quote
