bandtucker Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 according to one person interviewed " I pay my money I can say what I want"What are we some kind of animal? Aren't there characteristics that set us apart from animals? Money doesn't allow you to act like an idiot. If you don't like the call that someone made write a letter or make a phone call like an INTELLIGENT HUMAN BEING!!!!!!!! Coaches and referees don't get paid enough!!! walk a mile in their shoes.

Well said...cant stand it when people boo. Most of them are ignorant.
stang4life Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 ...according to one person interviewed " I pay my money I can say what I want"Most of the time, it is this type of fan-mentality that precipitated the brawl that we saw on the NBA courts a couple of years back. So many parents attempt to LIVE through their children and they really should stop. Sure, there are always going to be calls that fans don't agree with, but that's just the way it is. Trust me, the coaches are usually relaying our sentiments to the referees.
Cardinal Fan Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 I'll be honest, you guys don't want to sit around me. I don't think there is a place in the world much less a sporting event for racism, profanity, sexual comments, or personal attacks on players, other teams fans or the refs but WE ARE TALKING ABOUT BOOING. Good God, I promise I've been booed before and deserved it. Have all the calls I made is the past been correct, heck no. I have officiated men's softball games in the past and it can get heated. Personally if it is just booing I don't see the big deal. Of course this is my own opinion, you guy are very much entitled to yours.
bleacher_bum Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 I kinda agree with cardinal fan, as long as its just booing, who cares. There is not one person on this board that knows anything about the game they're watching who hasn't expressed displeasure with a call made against who they are pulling for. As long as that expression remains clean and doesn't get vulgar or offensive to kids and other spectators, Refs and Umps should not acknowledge them.I think personally, booing is just immature and childish, but disagreeing with a ball/strike or a foul in B-ball, etc., and then voicing this to an official - just keep it clean. And then let it go...It is a VERY TOUGH job and we couldn't have any of these sports without them. Thank 'em every chance you get.
BMTSoulja1 Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 So you guys think that there is an entire visitor side that is 'childish and ignorant'? I dissagree. I'm a fan. I'm not going to boo the opposing team, but I will boo a bad call if I see it fit. I'm not saying that because I paid my money either. On some of those calls, Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles could have seen better than that. Call it what you want.. ;D ;D ;D
