Monte Barrow named new HC/AD at Nederland!

I agree a good thing shouldn't be messed with but the sentiment is that Barrow will not be named AD and I'm willing to bet it has something to do with Barrow not having a Masters degree as others have mentioned its possible that could change next week

I don't believe it was settled conclusively that barrow didn't have a masters degree. Can anyone confirm conclusively one way or the other?

Bottom line is the Head Football coach/AD hire should be about whats best for Nederland,Nederland Athletics, the football players & keeping the same solid program going for the next 25 years with Coach Barrow. If its about "good ole boy" ego politics,personal agendas, controlling the athletic budget to get more money for basketball or any other bs then the next 25yrs will be uncertain

Folks I don't know much but this is fact.... Several board members have made it known...1. They want Neumann out. 2. They want English as AD.   Heard it straight from the mouth of 2 board members....and guess what? Here we are. Simmons won't take job without AD imo. Barrow might not either. Let's see what happens!

And FYI... don't believe for a second the board has no influence in the hire. The board hired her (new Sup) over two homegrown, x-coaches- asst sups... why? Cause they knew if one was promoted to Sup it would make it much more difficult to get rid of ole Larry....

The board did not want Larry gone. He left on his own personal terms.

Disaster would be they give English the AD and then Barrow and Simmons turn down the HC position without the AD title.  Worst of all scenarios and a very real possibility.
