I don't think anyone (other than the players) thought they would still be playing at this point in the season. This reminds me of the 2012 run when a similar Kountze team upset Edgewood in the Reg. Semis and almost knocked off #1 White Oak in the Regional Finals. Quote

They brought back their two of their top-3 scorers from last year including leading scorer Mylan Shed #21. IMO he is their best player because he can play inside and outside. Weathers is mainly a 3pt guy. If you remember the game last year Teague was not afraid to take the ball to the rim against us and if it wasn't for the late heroics of a kid named Grayland Arnold we would've lost. We will need to limit their open 3s and rebound to win this game. We can't afford a slow start or the road will end Friday night. A good omen.... Kountze has won 16 straight Regional Semi-final games. Quote

Joubert is a great coach and he implements a playing style that does not rely on superstar performances, but it rely's on hustle and teamwork. B.) The kids at Kountze have such a strong confidence after 20+ years of winning at a high level that they literally believe they can make it to state every year no matter what the roster looks like. If you take this same group of kids, put them with a mediocre coach, and take that "Kountze Confidence" away from them, then they are probably going out in the 2nd round of the playoffs. That's not meant as a knock on this group of kids, but it is a testament to their extreme confidence and Joubert's ability as a coach. mragc2007 1 Quote

And we did play without tyga edwards after getting hurt last year in 1st quarter... Whichever team can get got outside from 3 and limit turnovers wins this game Quote

These boys last year just didn't have enough to stop the GREAT Arnold but he isn't there this season for yall......Look for the exact same type of game but yall will not have any heroics this season. You seem to forget the Kountze starter who got injured in the first minute of the game last year. He's back. You also didn't have the pleasure of playing against our 6'4" post guy Michael Cole.
