Steelers8607 Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 What do yall think about 22-3A? Do you think the teams will improve and the district will be much stronger or will it be the same as last year. Your opinion please.
ncplaya Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Bout the same. Splendora, Coldspring, and Liberty will be strong again but nothing outrageous.
Steelers8607 Posted March 7, 2007 Author Report Posted March 7, 2007 Do you think these teams will be able to compete with the better teams in 21-3A?
1KatKiller Posted March 7, 2007 Report Posted March 7, 2007 No way. I coached last year in 21-3A and this year I coach in 22-3A and this is a weak district. Orangefield beat Splendora in Splendora last season and all 3 play-off teams got the boot in the first round last year. 22-3A is a weak district. I'm not trying to offend, just stating my opinion.
Steelers8607 Posted March 7, 2007 Author Report Posted March 7, 2007 yeah but Splendora did give Silsbee a run for their money in the playoff game. I think it will be very interesting next year.
frosty Posted March 8, 2007 Report Posted March 8, 2007 not sayin the district isnt weak but i didnt hear anybody saying that when the hill and huffman were in it
PANTHERPLAYA09 Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 barbers hill and huffman always lost in the 1st and 2nd round too.
go stros Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 yes....very weak! if there is one guy u gotta keep an eye on tho its anthony brooks the qb from tarkington....hes had 3 strong years on varsity and i dont expect any less his sr year....
frosty Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 goin 2 deep isnt to weak. anyways brooks is a player no doubt but i dont know if that can effect the playoff hopes that much for tarkington. its hear say that one of the top rbs in the district is moving there but thats just hear say. brooks and the rb need protection and the oline isnt too good. i say splendora repeats.
biggen Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 Katkilla....get the fact straight, Splendora played o-field in o-field, not splendora.......... .......frosty, where do you get your facts.......the "move-in" is always a myth in tarkington....my money says he stays in the land of the pirates
Guest backspin Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 You money no good here, you go home now. ;D
Go-rilla Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 Who's moving??? NOT THE CADDY?? Lot's of changes coming in this dist. It should be interesting next year. Lots of good talent.
ncplaya Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 Biggen shows up again. Dang where have you been? You ready to ride saturday?
1KatKiller Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 Sorry, Biggen...somebody get the last jelly donut before you did?
ncplaya Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 It took you long enough to reply to that pantherplaya, did you have to wait to get out of sophomore english class to get on the computer?
PANTHERPLAYA09 Posted March 20, 2007 Report Posted March 20, 2007 just cause anthony brooks throws 200 times a game doesnt mean hes some great qb. if u throw that many times your bound to complete some passes. its doesnt take a jr. to understand probability.hand it off up the middle for 250 yards a game and then we'll talk.
go stros Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 haha....the "move in myth" is always around in t-town! hahahahah! but im with u frosty...i saw 2 tarkington football games this past season and they had ZERO help from the line....coach needs to get some experience in there and NOT start sophmores! but about the final standings....1 splendora2 coldspring3 liberty4 shepherd5 tarkington6 clevelandtarkington and shepherd may flip flop, but i dont see the 3 playoff teams being any different
Lazeek Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 what has happened to Cleveland????? They were really good like 10 years ago when they ahd the stud RB go to Texas. I can't remember his name!!!
frosty Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 biggen go back to baseball haha..and kittyplaya im not sayin the kids a god but you cant deny that hes an athlete come on now, lets be real now. you should go do your homework you "expert" why would you wanna pound the middle when you cant get drive off of the line?? come on think man. that kid from cleveland was ivan williams, lots of great athletes in cleveland but somebody has to mold them together.
Hitch Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 Boise State had an athlete (Ellis) from Cleveland that started for them at NG / DT.He was a very good Fullback in the wishbone they ran.
frosty Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 didnt ellis commit to a&m first. low grades maybe why he ended up at boise
Lazeek Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 Ivan Williams that is him!!!!!! HE was an animal on the basketball court as well.
Hitch Posted March 21, 2007 Report Posted March 21, 2007 The team that is returning the most is Coldspring. It will be interesting to see how all plays out there in the weeks to come.Anything can happen. (injuries, move-ins, move-outs, hurricanes, turnovers, the list can go on).It all comes down to the chain of events that take place every Friday night and plays being made. There is good talent in this district. More so than anyone around wants to give it. To a different topic, the District looks to be receiving another school in this district. Kingwood Park may be added to compete in this district in possibly all areas except football, due to the two year contract obligations schools currently have for the home and home.Could make things even more exciting in 2007 - 2008.
