TxHoops Posted March 24, 2017 Report Posted March 24, 2017 I saw a few weeks ago the area leaders in track & field. I remember specifically looking at an impressive time from a young man from West Brook in the 100m and thinking, that's gonna change when Silsbee finishes playing basketball. I read this morning where Kaylon Barnes broke his dad's school record (of 10.4s) by running a 10.1. That is blazing! Congrats Kaylon! CCbigfan 1 Quote

Kountzer Posted March 25, 2017 Report Posted March 25, 2017 I'm guessing the 10.1 was a handheld time, and the 10.3 was FAT. Or, maybe they didn't use fat at all. Quote
Hagar Posted March 27, 2017 Report Posted March 27, 2017 Either time is faster that I could do the 10M in. Quote
wosfan1992 Posted March 27, 2017 Report Posted March 27, 2017 The whole track meet was handtimed. There at least 6 athletes that ran in the 10's for the 100m dash. Morris_era 1 Quote

I don't....I was there I've seen him run all this year and last year...He's always had a slow start thats why he's a better 200 runner. He he gets stronger as the race goes on. Honestly he would be a better quarter runner than the 100. 10.3 hand....10.6 FAT maybe 10.5 CardinalBacker 1 Quote
One4All Posted April 7, 2017 Report Posted April 7, 2017 4.6 40 time =Hmmmm Not 10.1 or 10.3 100m Quote

And from what I was told he was told by coaches to win comfortably but not push too hard, was told it takes a bit of time to get muscles track ready. Also remember as far as the start Kaylon defaulted at regionals I believe so I believe he may be holding back at the start a bit until later on Quote

scoopno1 Posted June 1, 2017 Report Posted June 1, 2017 I asked and he did not run it. I don't know if they had one. Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted June 4, 2017 Report Posted June 4, 2017 Kalon just won the Adidas National Boys Dream 100 in Boston with a time of 10.34. Beat national leader from Florida who wan 10.41. Where are those two from Orange who kept saying Kalon wasn't all that fast? Said he would only run 10.6 at best. BADSANTA, DXTR and AthleticSupporter - Jock 3 Quote

BADSANTA Posted June 11, 2017 Report Posted June 11, 2017 Kalon is faster than anyone to ever come thru Orange, Beaumony, Japer, or PA!! The kid is a beast!! Quote
scoopno1 Posted June 12, 2017 Report Posted June 12, 2017 I have been wondering for some time what Ivory Williams ran while he was in high school. I know he was extremely fast. One night in football against Silsbee he took a kick at the goal line and it appeared he ran an 8 second 100 getting to the other goal. Just kidding but he was fast, fast fast. How fast was that? Not too sure Kalon is faster than Chopper. Also, Vincent from PA Memorial ran a faster 200 this year than Barnes. Corey Dauphin also ran faster 200 times than Barnes. Quote
