Not sure he said defense but didn't say what position but you may be right about that because he did complemented jasper on allowing he to coach the defense to learn more. I like how he presents himself he seem like a good guy to help out young jags do the things he done here at central when he played here BMTSoulja1

Things were pretty vanilla of course with at least one coach from every school in 22-5A in attendance plus some from West Brook. The defense seems to be ahead of the offense which is the case for most teams with a new head coach installing a new playbook. A few key returning starters didn't even play. I can promise you this, they will be a lot more physical than what you seen the last couple of years. And the dumb unsportsmanlike penalties that plagued us in key situations over the past will be gone. It's called discipline, structure and knowing who is in charge without a doubt. The coaches seem to be doing more teaching than what I witnessed in the past and not trying to buddy buddy with players. I didn't do a head count myself but was told there were 95 kids suited up, which doesn't include next years freshman class. They won't be backing into the playoffs off a Nederland technicality like they did last year. The lowest they will finish is 3rd, if that low... dBerrySports
The 'd' word, uh oh... The next coaching staff always looks better than the old one in the honeymoon phase. I hope this new staff succeeds, but everyone is undefeated right now. No losses, penalties, etc. But, I know some people did not like the old coaching staff so they probably could have hired anyone and fans would like them more. Almost military like when they are on the field. I along with others have been criticized for claiming Beaumont schools have had a lack of discipline in the past. but I meant it in an honest way when I said it. If he keeps that up, and you add discipline with the talent level y'all have, then that is a scary thing for our district to face. What I will say is that the DISCIPLINE that was there when Stowers was head coach and that was missing the last 4 years, seems to be back. It's still early but I like the changes at 88 Jaguar Dr. so far... BMTSoulja1, mlewjr and L-Train11

Having played (unfortunately ) for the previous two coaches and then going back and seeing Nederland practices after Neumann got there I will say it was a night and day change. The way the kids reacted to the commands and payed attention during practice was amazing to me. He commanded respect and got it ,and it showed on Friday nights. I think that is what you are trying to say about the new Central coach correct?

I think that is what you are trying to say about the new Central coach correct? That is correct. No matter where he is on the field and where they are, when he blows the whistle, everyone stops what they are doing, faces him with their hands behind their backs and listens for his next commands. Like you said, commands respect and I think it will show on Friday nights, starting September 1st...
