But on many occasions he sounds more like a staunch Democrat, thus the reason he was not my first, second, third, fourth...seventeenth choice. At least he filled his cabinet with Conservatives. He does seem to be patterning himself after his predecessor on many things. I didn't think the Constitution would be one of those gripes though. Quote
LumRaiderFan Posted May 1, 2017 Report Posted May 1, 2017 The left is going nuts on this one...I suggest anyone interested see the entire interview. He's frustrated over the childish games that Congress plays with the rules...can't blame him. Don't worry lefties, Trump won't change the Constitution. (that many of you hate anyway) Quote

tvc184 Posted May 2, 2017 Report Posted May 2, 2017 The Constitution is probably bad for the country. It is almost certainly good for crime and criminals. Being good for the country wasn't why it was drafted however. It was written for individual rights and freedoms, not for what was good for the country. RETIREDFAN1 and Englebert 2 Quote

Benevolent rulers have proved to be the most effective Is that really what you extrapolated from TVC's post? The framers of the Constitution where vehemently against benevolent rulers, thus framed the Constitution to give more rights to the people instead of the government. Please clarify you post... with examples...of who these effective benevolent rulers are. I have a feeling I'm somehow missing your intent, because my initial reading of your post can only lead me to believe this was some sort of attempt at sarcasm...but I don't get it. tvc184 1 Quote
Hagar Posted May 2, 2017 Report Posted May 2, 2017 Trump's comment is a prime example of why the press loves him. He supplies them with story after story. This particular comment was way up there on the dumb meter. If not for The Constitution, he wouldn't be president. As for electing a king, we did that in 2008 & 2012. Didn't work out. baddog 1 Quote

Think I'll pass...I actually think the dems would prefer a king. Quote
