They were owned by the Saudi's before then partnered with Shell and took a 50% stake.  Shell is a Dutch company so neither were American owned anyways.  

 

I like reading the idiots on FB blaming Trump for this.  This has been in the works for years.

I was working sub contract when Texaco became Star Enterprise, which was partially Saudi owned.

Saudi doesn't like that the U.S. is world leader in oil production due to our fracking capabilities. They have something up their sleeves.
