I could see it working for the Tigers.  They should be a little more experienced on the line, a couple of good backs in Thomas and Sells and a senior leader in Collins.

The problem with the spread is that if your quarterback isn't completing about 60% of his passes, you're facing a lot of quick 3 and outs and it puts a lot more pressure on the defense.  And last year, the defense that you would be putting the pressure on allowed almost 32 points a game.

I haven't heard that. But they've got enough talent to run anything they want. If they have a coach that is capable of implementing the offense. Does the HC or OC have a strong background with a triple option? Lastly, everybody has to block. It calls for a lot of discipline and there's no room for prima donnas at the skill position. I think it could be good for the Tigers the first year and beastly by year two, IF they embrace the change over there.

From being in the stands many games last year in silsbee, I can tell you that majority of fans did not embrace the I-Formation run first offense that was implemented, so I don't see this going over very well.

I agree. I don't want anybody to think I'm blowing a dog-whistle, but that system will require a lot of disciplined play... and the kids over there have kinda gotten as far as they have on talent as opposed to solid play. I think if Tyler hadn't taken his talents to Silsbee and had a monster season, Silsbee would have lost another game or more. People would have been gathering diesel and matches in Smoketown. If they manage to harness that talent and play disciplined football, look out.

You can run the triple option out of the spread. "Triple option" nowadays doesn't simply mean lining up in the wishbone and running the ball. With the RPOs, your triple option can be: QB hand off to the RB, QB keep the ball and run, QB keep the ball and pass it at the last second. You can even add a 4th option and bring a RB in motion and make him the pitch man. Silsbee could be running the traditional option, but this is just my thought on it.

I don't care about the spread.  I love the offense Silsbee ran this year.  Stretch run plays, counters, playaction passes, ect.

I agree.... Having Tyler helped, though.  A.Thomas is a horse, but Tyler was special.

I was at the district track meet and this nice lady from Silsbee was sitting next to me enthusiastically screaming "COME ON BC!!!!!!! LET'S GO BC!!!!!!!!!!!"  Except she was actually just saying "C."

Why would you automatically presume this?

I was just asking what formation. It could be in any of these  formations triple I, wishbone, pistol. Just curious what style they would run

Yea, C was special,  but I think Thomas will be fine.  He's healthy and I think he'll have a big season, just like he did as a Sophmore.

This is one Tiger fan who won't be afraid or against a change.  We do have a couple of real good threats at receiver but a back in Thomas that will do something that we haven't done in recent years even for the most part this past season,  and that is control the time of possession.  I know we did a lot better this year but we had a bunch of long runs by Calvin putting the defense right back out there.  Adonis will have more those good runs that move the chains and eat clock.  We can't leave out those receivers though.

I hope they enjoy blocking.
