The Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District approved the hiring of Tim Finn as the next coach of the Baytown Lee Gander football program and campus athletic coordinator.
Finn has served as the head coach of Wharton since 2012 and developed the program into a consistent playoff program. When he took the job, the Tigers were on a five-year losing streak. Last season, he guided the 4A program to an 8-5 record and a playoff run three games deep. Prior to taking the Wharton job, Finn had coached at Texas City for 21 years including 10 at a head coach and athletic director. In his head-coaching career at Wharton and Texas City, Finn has posted a 106-69 record

Hope he knows what he is getting into. Doesn't seem like the guy that would want to have to start from a 1-29 place at this stage in his career. That salary is a heck of a draw.

He and Gareri had coached together for many years at Texas City.
