Trump Fires FBI Director

Mr. Trump sacked Mr. Comey on the advice of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, a former U.S. Attorney with a straight-up-the-middle reputation who was only recently confirmed by the Senate by a 96-4 margin.. In a memo to Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Mr. Rosenstein cited Mr. Comey’s multiple breaches of Justice Department protocol in his criminal investigation of Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified material.

The FBI isn’t supposed even to confirm or deny ongoing investigations, but in July 2016 Mr. Comey publicly exonerated Mrs. Clinton in the probe of her private email server on his own legal judgment and political afflatus. That should have been the AG’s responsibility, and Loretta Lynch had never recused herself.

As for the Russia probe, if Mr. Trump is trying to cover up anything, firing the FBI Director is a lousy way to do it. Such a public spectacle will make details more likely to leak if agents feel their evidence is being sat on. Mr. Comey’s credibility was also tainted enough that whatever he announced at the end of the probe would have been doubted.

Why did he recommend that he fire Comey at this time, when the former FBI director was investigating his ties to Russia?

Comey, Sally Yates and Clapper said there's nothing there concerning the Russians.  You need to stop listening to the commie press and commie articles.  Remember -- the Democrats wanted Comey fired before he was fired.  Again -- more manufactured outrage by the Democrats!

thats not why he was fired, trump never intended to do anything to his friend Hillary. He just told his minions that he would in order to help get elected.

Imagine that, a politician saying something in order to get elected. What a concept. It should catch on.

Trump fired him because the attorney general made that recommendation.  Unlike certain predecessors, Trump apparently chose to listen to the advice of some of those associated with him;

Sessions, the former junior senator from Alabama, said the FBI director "must be someone who follows faithfully the rules and principles of the Department of Justice and who sets the right example for law enforcement officials and others in the department.

"Therefore, I must recommend that you remove Director James B. Comey, Jr. and identify an experienced and qualified individual to lead the great men and women of the FBI."

The same guy who RECLUSED himself from RUSSIAN INVESTIGATIONS.

C'mon Nash. You already know Trump isn't the brightest bulb on the lamp post. He alreday pissed that Yates was getting more publicity than him the last few days.

Personally, I have had my fill of those "really really smart" guys so his position on the lamp post does not trouble me.  Do you think it is better to fire someone like Comey or to continue to employ someone like Lois Lerner?  As for the timing of the firing, I am pretty confident that if it had been done 6 weeks ago, 6 days ago, or 6 months from now, the "timing" would still have been questioned.

Told y'all the lefty reaction would be good...even on here.

Unhinged. :)

What does the left really care about Comey, especially the black guys? This is the top cop in the land and we all know how they feel about white cops. It's just that Trump fired him and that rattles their cages.

    • What news station do you watch?…..never mind.    What age are the children you take care of. Refugees from where? Are they in a hospital? Now children compared to criminals…..geeeez. The mayor of Denver and a few governors, including Newsom, have said they will not turn over incarcerated criminals to ICE. This is a felony. They are harboring criminals and fugitives. Gee, I’m so glad you want criminals protected. Anyone who crossed illegally into our country is a criminal. Happy Holidays to you and yours.
    • Sorry sir on my miss count. I was in hurry
    • Are they offering refuge to criminals? Or is it a Trump talking point? Refugees are people who leave their country due to unwarranted prosecution. I actually take care of 2 refugee kids who have complex medical needs   No, refugees are not criminals, and the assumption that they are more likely to be criminals than the general population is incorrect:                                                                                          Research shows immigrants commit crimes at lower rates Immigrants in the United States commit crimes at lower rates than the U.S.-born population, including unauthorized immigrants. This is true across immigrant groups.                  Immigration doesn't raise crime rates Immigrants don't raise crime rates in the communities where they settle. In fact, some studies suggest that immigration can lower crime rates, especially violent crime.                  Anti-immigration politicians have spread a myth Anti-immigration politicians have repeatedly tried to link immigrants to crime, but research shows this is a myth.                  Refugees don't cause crime in Turkey A study found that refugees don't have a causal effect on crime rates in Turkey. In fact, the study found that refugees may have a negative effect on crime rates per capita.
    • I think it's actually the first time ever to get past the second round. Some older folks might try to tell you about Scott High but I wasn't here when that school was around 😆
