Shea Landry's Mustangs, 25-3 on the season, reached this round with a bi-district series sweep of Diboll (5-1, 15-0) and a area round sweep of Tarkington (13-0, 7-4). Meanwhile, Tim Erickson's Bobcats, 18-9 on the season reached this round with a 2-1 bi-district series win over Lufkin Hudson (2-1, 2-8, 7-1) and a area round series sweep of Hardin-Jefferson (4-1, 5-1). The winner of this series will face the winner of the Salado/Robinson series. Robinson leads that series 1-0 with Game 2 tonight.
