The Big Sandy look to take one step closer to a trip to Austin as they take on the Center Point Pirates in Game 1 of this Class 2A, Region IV Semifinal.  Jacob Hooker's Wildcats, 29-2 on the season, reached this round with a 4-0 bi-district win over Snook, a 2-0 area round series sweep of Weimar (5-4, 19-9) and a 2-0 regional quarterfinal sweep of Flatonia (10-0, 10-2).  Meanwhile, the Pirates, champions of 29-2A and 19-6 on the season, punched their ticket to this round with a 2-0 bi-district series sweep of Charlotte (5-2, 16-3), a 2-0 area round sweep of Benavides (4-3, 11-0) and a 6-1 regional quarterfinal win over Ozona.

The winner of this series will face the winner of the Thorndale/Refugio series which begins tonight in Weimar with Games 2 and 3 If necessary) on Saturday.
