Hagar Posted June 13, 2017 Report Posted June 13, 2017 There's a bunch, of just Country. I have several George Stait's DVDs that had good ones they never played. Heard this song on the radio twice about 3 years ago, and the singer, Josh Thompson, wasn't someone I recognized, but durn I liked it. It's weird when we really like a song but it never gets popular. You wanna say, What's the matter with y'all lol. Anyway, Quote

CardinalBacker Posted June 14, 2017 Report Posted June 14, 2017 My favorite one that didn't make it was "Life ain't easy for a Sioux named Boy." jv_coach 1 Quote

Marty Robbin's album "Gunfighters Ballads and Trail Songs" is one of the best albums ever made. I used to have an original pressing, but lost it in Hurricane Ike. I do have the remastered CD, with bonus tracks. jv_coach and LumRaiderFan 2 Quote

No strain, just opened his mouth and that great voice came out. In the car, I listen occasionally to country oldies out of Htn. All they play is El Paso. He had so many other good songs, especially Big Iron & Cool Water. Also liked Mr. Shorty. Didn't get a lot of radio play, but a cool song. LumRaiderFan 1 Quote

baddog Posted June 24, 2017 Report Posted June 24, 2017 Only voice I could go at Marty Robbins with would be Jim Reeves. I do like them both. Quote

Hagar Posted June 30, 2017 Author Report Posted June 30, 2017 Had to stick this in here. Strait's had so many hits, and although this didn't get played, it's still one of my (many) favorites. jv_coach 1 Quote
jv_coach Posted June 30, 2017 Report Posted June 30, 2017 My oldest daughter asked me one day "daddy how can people not like George Strait and Jonny Cash songs?" I teared up a lil bit. So proud of her I was. Hagar 1 Quote
