Regardless of your beliefs it is hard not to applaud the Anahauc coaching staff and community for their support of this kid in what could have been a very difficult time.

There is nothing to applaud here. I hope the moderators remove this thread. It belongs in the "political and social commentary section" (if there is one), but not here in the high school sports forum.

A portion of my original post was editted by one of the moderators, not me. I've got no problem with him doing that. The comment made was accurate and true. There is nothing to walk back. 

I'm not confident that you know what "reasonable" is by inserting "protesting at military funerals".

You know something's better not said. I think the kid was wanting attention. He can be more conservative in his belief. Not bashing gay people BUT it's not normal and the majority have other issues too.

My only thought and post on this subject.....if it is the intention of gays to be totally accepted in society, then the mention of their being gay is counterproductive and unacceptable. Why can't he simply be the former Anahuac player?........

Except for the girl who was not on the team so that Anahauc folks can say how they progressed to a better way.
