what is going on in warren. isn't this be the 3rd coach in 3 years?

Nothing really happening.  It would seem so from the outside.  1st coach (Wofford)  chose to retire entirely on his on last July (later decided to come back and coach in Brookeland).  He was replaced by Coach Bryant in late July.  We welcome Coach Bunner and look to get back to the baseball tradition we had in Warren.

Any ideas on who might be a fit or at least in the running for WOS

According to an article in the Enterprise, Cornel Thompson didn't give any timeline on when a hire will be made.  He didn't indicate who the candidates, if he has any in mind are.

The thing I think could lure someone like Westbrook at Jasper or Jeff Bennett at Kirbyville is that the administrative situation at both schools is a circus right now and the political situation is dynamic.

Both coaches would be great for WO-S if Cornel can work his magic and get them over there.

Don't get me wrong.  IF Coach Thompson could lure either Coach Westbrook or Coach Bennett to WO-S, I'd be good with that.

However based upon information I have gotten from Jasper and Kirbyville, both coaches are currently happy enough with their situations, as well as both schools being happy enough with their coaches.  So it appears that they will be staying put (no guarantee, of course) for the near future.

Of course, I'd not have a problem if Ryan Pickering would be promoted to the top spot, either.

    • He has the most playoff wins (18) of any head coach in Silsbee football history.
    • Ended 13-10 yesterday…worst of the season for sure
    • Coach Smith is thr most successful coach in Silsbee football history. I hope these Tigers can win a state championship soon.
    • Just wanted to give a shout out to AD/HC Randy Smith of Silsbee. Coach Smith has now been at Silsbee for 9 seasons. His overall record is 78-32. District record 38-9 and playoff record is 18-9. He has won 3 district championships, 7 Bi-District championships, 6 Area championships, 3 regional finals (2 championships) 2 state semifinals. His teams have made it to the 3rd round or better in 6 of his 9 seasons. They have averaged 3rd round over those 9 seasons. Here is a breakdown of each of those seasons:                                Overall               District                 Playoffs 2016                        6-5                  4-1 R                      0-1 2017                        7-5                  4-1 C                      2-1 2018                       10-5                 3-1 R                      4-1 2019                        9-4                  3-1 R                      4-1 2020                        7-3                  5-1 R                      1-1 2021                        5-5                  4-2 T                       0-1 2022                       13-1                 6-0 C                      3-1 2023                       12-1                 6-0 C                      2-1 2024                        9-4                  3-2 T                      2-1   He has won 72% of his games overall, 81% of district games and 69% of playoff games. All this as a first time HC. Coach Smith has also been an excellent AD. Silsbee has a very successful athletic program. Congrats to Coach Smith on what I consider one of his best coaching years this season.
    • Great season Tigers!! Anytime your playing after Thanksgiving, you are doing great things. Keep your heads up as we enjoyed the ride once again. I will never complain about a 9-4 season.  Jayden Miller for Silsbee should be extremely close to 1000 yards receiving if not a little over. I think Miller had around 128 receiving yards and Farr around 110 yards rushing.
