really the month to remember, with record setting cold temperatures, high water, high winds and some of our local guys doing real well in some bass tournaments. Congratulations to Stephen Johnston for his big win in the FLW Stren tournament. Folks, this is a real class tournament from the FLW. If you have never attended a tournament or any other function at the Umphrey Family Pavilion you should. It's a place to be proud of.

Let's fish! Bass are on beds in shallow water. You can catch them on jigs- lizards and plastic whatever. Be patient and watch for movement in the shallow water. A good pair of polarized glasses are the most important thing you can have Look for light spots on the bottom then look for the fish. Fish slow and hold on. When the spawn winds down spinner baits and jerk baits will work well. Texas rigged worms and lizards in the bush will catch a lot of bass.

White bass have been on their best bite this year. If you all have not tried the Big Whites you have missed out. We still have a few openings this month so give us a call.

Crappie are slow but will be moving up real soon and the grass will be hot. Some are on the deeper brush piles. The Stanley wedge tails and live minnows are the best
