Reading the article, after getting through the political fluff, it appears that trump saved at least 700 people their jobs for at least 10 years.  The company is choosing to lay off other people in other sections, but I don't really understand the criticism of trump here.

He threatened to fine them if they left the country, and he was bragging saying he prevented them from leaving. Does anyone take him seriously? Aren't they closing the plant in the U.S?

BG- How would this compare to the 1900 jobs lost at Solyndra.   How much tax payer money is lost in this circumstance vs that of Solyndra?

The chemical plant and refinery industry added more jobs from 2008 to 2016 than they have in a long time. before 2008 things were shakey. Not including all of the expansions announced between 2008 and 2016. Added way more than 1900 jobs.
