Affirmative action

I thought affirmative action allowed preferential treatment to certain people.  Such as allowing certain races college admission, even though another applicant of a different race was more deserving.

IMO,  it ensures that qualified minorities get a fair chance. The aforementioned article gives some insight about white privilege and college admission.

So you advocate policies where blacks are admitted over whites, even though the whites may have scored higher in the college entrance exams? Where is the fairness in that? Blacks are not about fairness. They are about overtaking and shunning whites. These policies don't make blacks work harder to learn, it allows them to "coast" through life. Look at yourself.... Supposedly a RN who doesn't know what the "C" in naacp stands for. You think that speaks volumes for your education? You really shouldn't flaunt it to people. It's very exposing.

Your "everybody gets a ribbon or trophy" sucks.

Do you think it is fair that wealthy white kids get admitted; even though, they have lower GPA's than some minorities?

Please show me where that has happened. Blacks have struggled to pass the entrance exams. So instead of working harder in school, let's lower the qualifications so that everyone gets in, since we believe that everyone is " entitled" to an education. You see, when you don't have to earn your way in life, it affects the quality of education for all.

My son was considered legacy at my alma Mata, Texas A&M University, yet he had the GPA and class ranking to get in on his merits. Trump's dad bought his degree, (Donald). We all know he didn't get into Penn, an Ivy League School, because he is smart.

Ags are putting sacks over their heads now. Lmao. Wouldn't being a legacy be black privilege? Heck, even "Flounder" was a legacy.

Jared Kushner is hardly emblematic of what takes place in American colleges today.  Additionally, you, of all people, who regularly criticizes the sources provided by others elects to use something from ThinkProgress.org- simply amazing.

If little Johnny Caucasian graduates from high school with a 3.0 average and little Joey Minority graduates from high school with a 3.0 average and both apply to University of Texas and/or Baylor, wanna guess/bet who will receive preferential consideration?

Johnny Caucasian. Baylor has 14, 000 students. I think  maybe 1000, are black.

What college did you attend?  White people have generations of people who graduated from college, thus, white youth benefit more from legacy programs.

Affirmative action came about because of racism. blacks were not even allowed to attend the elementary school of choice, much less college.

So, you and big girl are ok with racism as long as it works to your advantage.  I call that racism, and y'all are a bunch of hypocrites.
