I stirred what up?  Have I the power to "stir it"?  What I was alluding to in my post is the fact that the left has been attacking folks on the right for about a year, with impunity.  Hitting a woman in the face with eggs as she was leaving a Trump rally.  Physically attacking others going in and coming out, with no police presence, or police not doing anything.  Attacking those on the right at Berkeley, and other colleges, again with no police involvement.  The guy who wanted to shoot all the Repub Senators. If one group of idiots, on either side, can get away with it, the other side idiots will want to.

Honestly Dove, in our current atmosphere, wouldn't you have anticipated a confrontation?  Had I been the Mayor or Governor, I'd had more police there than demonstrators & counter demonstrators.  Why didn't they?  And if you read my earlier post, a person training for the ministry said people were hitting each other and blood was flowing, but the police stood behind the barricades watching.  I'm sure they were ordered too.  Don't you find that strange?

 I am almost positive that Robert E Lee was dead when I was born, so it would be  impossible for him to personally oppress me. (Unless, he rose from the dead). So, you are correct, I can't name one time he "held me down".

Exactly. So why is the Left making such a huge ordeal and mess of things tearing down these statues? All it is doing is inciting protests which lead to violence. Before this hysteria on doing away with "southern" history started nobody was being oppressed or offended and if they were they were looking for a reason. Our country will be torn apart by the social justice warriors who think they are protecting it.

The difference in wanting to do for your own, rather than waiting on a handout.  Sometimes one has to be willing to do something, instead of expecting someone to do for them.  Like you said, I could have easily been a sorry pos, but I wanted more than that.  Not to many want to get up and earn it everyday, but you do to provide for those that depend on you.

Dove, How do you decide who does and who doesn't (amongst the white folks) have understanding and empathy?  What qualifies one as being understanding and empathetic?  If I don't like the way Mr. Obama handled his term in office, does that make me lacking in understanding and empathy?

I have a serious question. Why are white people on welfare programs? Someone once said on this forum that it has been "60 plus years since the Civil Right's Act and it appears that  we (black people) still don't have it together" the person asked for an explanation. If a majority of white people were not enslaved in this country, why are there so many who need public assistance?
