How did this one play out for each team

GCM did not look good, had a tough time stopping anything. GCM offense was just as bad had a hard time of running base plays. Hard to tell if Hardin Jefferson was that much better or if GCM is that bad. Maybe both?

In the controlled portion, HJ scored twice GCM did not score. In the live portion GCM scored once, HJ did not score. GCM has some work to do but I think they have some pieces in place to make some improvements. Their offense should be more balanced this year. The defense can be solid. Not expecting any miracles but I believe they can be a little more competitive this year. This week's game against PAM will tell us more, it got ugly real quick last year. If we compete better this year, we'll know we've made some strides.

Hull-Daisetta's former star Freshman RB BJ Peterson moved to GCM. Kid is a future All-State RB, he rushed for almost 1,600 yards as a Freshman at HD on varsity, at only 14 years old. He comes from a family that has had many talented track and football stars. To bad they moved to GCM... Kid is special.

Yes, 4A, Division II

Big difference in classifications .   6A will be much tougher than HD district.  Highly doubt he comes remotely close to his yardage as a member of GCM.

BJ looked good on the limited carries he had. O-Line is coming together and will be much better then last years injury plagued line.

Down as we are in a very tough district. Down as in talent, maybe but we have this years Jr, class and some nice sophomores ready to contribute. We have some freshman that will be contributing next year as well.  Could be a ok run in the next couple years.  Not saying DC's but playoffs are possible.

BJ is a special kid, has the talent to be an All-State RB and play D1 ball. I so wish his family would not have moved.
