NewtonNation Posted August 26, 2017 Report Posted August 26, 2017 Time to get it started! Newton has looked good in the scrimmages. Kirbyville hasn't from what I hear. Newton by 21+ Go Eagles! Quote
rykerx144 Posted August 26, 2017 Report Posted August 26, 2017 This ain't even funny. I agree 21 but in 1qtr Quote
The Matador Posted August 26, 2017 Report Posted August 26, 2017 Neece is going to enjoy this one!! Eagles by as much as they want. Quote
jimmyw Posted August 26, 2017 Report Posted August 26, 2017 if there is a game, it will be muddy and I will go with them eagles but it could be fumbles everywhere. Quote
purpleeagle Posted August 26, 2017 Report Posted August 26, 2017 Don't be to confident. Remember last year. Kirbyville will be a worthy opponent. Newton wins this one but it might not be as easy as everyone thinks. Kirbyville will play Newton very tough. Quote
CardinalBacker Posted August 26, 2017 Report Posted August 26, 2017 I'm going with Kirbyville. They've got a Secret Weapon/12th Man/Dr. Wallis. RedJollyRoger and Hagar 2 Quote

NewtonNation Posted August 26, 2017 Author Report Posted August 26, 2017 I hope the Cats have all that out of there system by Friday. Quote
Makemineaconvertible Posted August 26, 2017 Report Posted August 26, 2017 If we get the rain they say this game won't take place. I can see Newton winning by 40+ but that will be it. WT will not allow the score to be run up. The two schools have too much respect for each other. The Newton / Kirbyville is not a bitter rivalry. Quote

Not a rivalry are you serious? This is a big time rivalry, this game will get bad in a hurry Newton 65 Kirbyville 0. I'm saying WT let's Neece score a few extra just because. Quote

That's what I thought, too, but then again I don't think Neece would want to do that to his former players. WOSgrad 1 Quote

Who benefits from it? As a professional form of courtesy you don't do this. Quote
Makemineaconvertible Posted August 26, 2017 Report Posted August 26, 2017 Newton 48 Kirbyville 6 Quote

This, plus the fact that both Johnston and Neece know that there are bigger fish to fry than a week one blowout. A lot of kids will get time just in case they are needed this year and to get them experience for next year. NewtonNation 1 Quote
purpleeagle Posted August 26, 2017 Report Posted August 26, 2017 Exactly, you play the other kids to get them experience. If the score is run up (and I don't think it will be) it will be with the second and third team kids. Newton carried 45 kids on the varsity last year and they all played. Quote

Lucky? Kirbyville is not scared to play them I can assure you that. Would Newton beat Kirbyville, I'm sure they would. Quote
TXHORN_ET Posted August 28, 2017 Report Posted August 28, 2017 I don't believe I named any school being afraid of playing against one or the other in my previous post. The point I was trying to make, evidently a poor attempt, was that more than likely with the bad weather we're having, the game may not be played at all and would make interesting reading on what the posters would have to say. purpleeagle Posted August 28, 2017 Report Posted August 28, 2017 Kirbyville is no push over. They have a lot of players back from last year and they are a pretty good football team. We thought we would run all over Arp last year to. Quote
