Tiger90
The offense is questionable. There isn't a generational player to hide the issues and save it this year. Wr routes were missed. Ol needs work. Qb has a good ball but looks more of a pocket passer vs dual. Hard to get many passes out when defenders were in his face so quickly. Scheme needs adjusting to fit personnel. Lots of work to do. Kicking (fg) game is a highlight for once in a long time. ST413
BADSANTA
Last time Sikabee tried to do the pocket passer thing, it didn't work out back in 2014. Maybe they can run a two QB system with a dual QB. Not having a mobile QB and a suspect OL is bad. Very bad.

ST413
My question with either Lowe or Barnes as qb or even a RB would be whether they could take the punishment of either position. I would hate to lose that dual threat at receiver but they are weapons that need to touch the ball.

STiger85
blah, blah, blah, heard the same thing last year. Put this player here, put that player there. This aint working, gotta do this. You guys......There is a reason Silsbee tries to schedule top notch teams, teams that are not push overs. They make us see our flaws so we can work on them. And, just like last year watch this year play out. For me, knowing these players the way I do, I'm going to bet on the players to work their butts off and get it going in the right direction. Who That
Need a lot of work on the ol and got to put the ball in the right hands figure this out and Silsbee will be fine . SilsbeeFootball15
I'm not so sure any of you saw the 7 or 8 guys in the backfield blowing up the play as soon as the ball was snapped. What would Tre or Kalon do with a rush like that? They'd get sacked. Neither one can throw a ball like Collins even on the off chance they get more than 2 seconds to throw the ball. O line play must improve, receivers must run smarter routes, and play calling must be better. Nothing wrong with the QB play this game. SilsbeeFootball15
Also, because a kid played something in PeeWee doesn't automatically qualify them for a position in high school football. QB's in peewee and QB's in high school are different. I shouldn't have to post that, but I guess it's not a widely known thing.

ST413
Hmm most interesting stat on there: time of possession in the second half Newton 12:49, Silsbee 11:11, first half Newton 13:32 Silsbee 10:28. Looks like our defense wasn't on the field near as much as was thought in that second half. L-Train11 and NewtonNation
CardinalBacker
19 hours ago, BADSANTA said: Listening to the game and a watching a few games last yeaf, this offense scheme is still questionable. Adonis, did well his sophomore because he is a solid back but had a very mobile QB who rushed for 1800 yards and 20 something touchdowns. Silsbee QB this year isn't as noble and the scheme is much different. Tyler was a dynamic back who made the offense last year with Jones and Barnes. The Silsbee OL really needs to dig in and get better or this team is going nowhere. I hope this was just bad play due to being 1st game and a week or so no practice. Defense is much improved but can't be on the field all night. Not sure why on 3 different possessions we threw the ball od 2nd and short. Silsbee needs to keep the ball in Barnes and Lowe's hands 50% of the time. Alot of games left. I see us as a 3rd lr 4th seed or staying home. Nah.... I still believe y'all will be one of the top seeds in the district. BC, LCM, Huffman, and Cleveland were all hit hard by the storm. It's hard to miss two weeks or so of practice (as well as two games) and be playing well. Don't quote me, but I was told that our kids went almost two full weeks without practicing in pads.... and our young squad needed all of the reps they could get. That game burned me up pretty good, but I do support the coach and kids , especially how they turned it around after last year started looking bleek. Collins didn't look any worse than Jones last year in his first couple of games. I'm just looking for progression for next game... Let me clarify, when I said "who can actually throw the ball", I was not meaning that Collins can't throw the ball. That comment was meant for Lowe, everyone talks about his speed but from what I've seen in practice he can actually throw pretty good as well. That's what I meant, and probably could have worded it more clearly. Not a knock on Collins at all, Maroon4
purpleeagle
L-T, sure sounded to me like you were knocking Collins, saying this other guy can throw and run. I don't think the coach put his second best qb in as the starter. If the other kid had played and got the same results, which I believe he would have, then you would be wanting to have him replaced. Are you president of the QB club? Maroon4
