Diboll at Newton

Ok so Diboll coming off a win against Crockett last week and Newton coming off a win against Silsbee this should be a pretty descent game this week. I have Newton winning going away 49 to 7.

I seen potential in diboll last season, just not sure why they weren't better than they was, I also can't get a clear answer on crocketts expectations of 2017 season

I think Diboll will give Newton a game, I still see Newton winning 34-21. Remember Diboll didn't have a week of non-practice.JMO

Diboll had a running back with something like 365 yards rushing against  Crockett. He will probably do good to get 65 yards against Newton. I think Diboll is a fair team but not in the class with Newton .            Newton 45 Diboll 7           I don't think anyone in our district will challenge us this year.

How about that kicker from Newton. He is sure a big plus for our team.

I don't think Diboll will have over 300 yards rushing either but I feel like their line will open up enough lanes to break the century mark easily.  Not a pass heavy time but the ground attack should be interesting to watch against a good newton D.  Closer than ppl think

I'm thinking that this might be a good game. Diboll made Crockett look like a bad team and they arent! Newton wins 37-28

I think he misunderstood the last part of your post. "Didn't  have a week of non practice"

They made Crockett look like a bad team because Crockett is a bad team. Crockett struggled to beat Trinity (30-22), a team picked 5th in a weak district that lost 6 starters on offense and 6 starters on defense and who was 3-7 last year.. Diboll has yet to play a worthy opponent. If you are going to the game please don't leave at half time. If you bring a purple shirt you can move over to the Newton side at half time.

Let's go ahead and crown Newton state champs. By all means they are the best team in 3a Division 2

Newton will load the box to stop the running game and they are big enough and physical enough to do it. Diboll comes off the ball hard up front, but they will not be able to move the defensive line off the ball like they did against Crockett. Newton is more experienced than the young Crockett team and much more physical. Crockett failed to tackle the RB's on numerous occasions just because they are young and not strong enough. Newton will not have that problem. Diboll does not throw the ball well enough to put any pressure on the Newton secondary.

I honestly think last week was more of a measuring stick for Newton.

Newton will not be tested again for another 10 games , sucks but its reality no one on the schedule is very good and we all know the first two rounds of playoffs are trash teams that don't really deserve to be there .

Being a Newton fan, I have always been confused as to why Newton doesn't play a stronger pre-district schedule. There for a couple of years we played an outside team (Tatum) and that was nice to see but besides that its always seemed to be weaker big schools. I have heard that when Coach Barbay was alive, teams would turn him down when he asked about playing for fear of being beat by a small school . Anyone have any insight on this? Just wish we didn't play the same ole schools every year. Regardless , still an Eagle fan.
