I thinks so, but I am sure they added on to it when Ozen opened.  It is still a smaller school than WB.

That was baby brook. Before that it was Hebert before they merged with forest park to become West Brook. Central was the merger of old BISD BCP and French.

I'm sorry but all of this is just crazy. Never in a million years would I think I would see the mass devestation like this. We've been through Rita, Humberto and Ike. I thought Ike was bad but all three of those can't hold a candle to Harvey. I'll keep praying for everyone that was devastated by this flood and the kids that have no home and some that have no school. No words guys.....

Would have been better off with 100 mph winds and 4-5 inches of rain, compared to 50-60 inches of rain.

There are a couple of models BISD could copy in the Houston area.  Kingwood and Summer Creek are sharing a campus with each school going every other day.  They could consult with FB ISD and see what's going on with Willowridge and Marshall, which occurred before the flood.  I think they could put Central @Smith Middle with different bell schedules like they use to do at SFA.  Smith was old French and they should fit all the kids.  Another option is using Ozen's campus and go every other day and make up the days(minutes I've been told) in the Spring

Yes, old Heber/WB 9th was added on during the '98 Bond.  It holds around 1700 kids

Smith Middle isn't being used?

I'm thinking it could be 6-12 with different bell schedules after lunch like we did at Austin.  I hope they come up with a feasible plan

That is kind of a misleading title, just saying.  "Central high school unfit for students due to water" would be more on point.

Yeah your right but this title gets more views.

I can't go back and fix that now...

Dumb question here, but what does this mean for the football program? Is it over?

The good thing is the fieldhouse is about 100 yards from the nearest other building.  The boys have been practicing everyday.  I guess there was no water intrusion.  As for the main building, it is off limits as far as I know.  The Jaguars will be in Vidor Tuesday...

I doubt they cancel football. BISD will bring people in and have that school up and going in no time.

I doubt they will be in school anywhere this week...

The type of remediation they are looking at would take months to complete. If it even takes one month, doesn't that wipe out the season for the jaguars? Can Central HS be blended between WB and Ozen and still be able to compete for Central? Lots of questions.

No blending going on.  That would be worse than if the Indians and Bulldogs merged...

Never say never.

They say politics makes for strange bedfellows.

Over the past couple of weeks, I have found that hurricane recovery can also have the same effect.

I mean I'm sure they won't cancel football, but as far as someone coming in and having the school up and running in no time....just don't see that happening.

From what I’m hearing Central will be moving to the old Austin MS campus now called the Early Learning HS, Early Learning HS willl move to WB campus, Paul Brown will move to Ozen....

Now that seems to be the best plan that I have heard or seen.
