Why in the world did yall get in the wing T. if we had #7 on our team he would be getting the ball about every play. That boy got to much speed not to  be handing it off or throwing it in his direction

Well, we do get him the ball, just not enough, IMO.  Kid is the fastest kid in the state...  He's got to get the ball...

Nothing wrong with Silsbee offense, almost 400 yards and 38 points. Don't make sense. The offense was fine tonight. The defense has to tackle better. This is something the coaches drill in every practice, all the players have to do is take it to the game. The coaches can't get on the field and tackle for you. You got to have the want to. Also, if the team shadows on Barnes and Lowe and y'all still want to get the ball in their hands that is what doesn't make sense. Can't do nothing with two or three or four players around you. Now we have put ourselves behind the eight ball. This is nothing that can't be overcome, we gotta get healthy and we gotta tackle. TigerNation!!!

Where did you get your stats from? Orange Leader has WINTERS 27 CARRIES FOR 226 YARDS, QB MCCOLLUM FOR 121 YARDS AND DOUGLAS 104 YARDS RUSHING.

I know in basketball, Van likes to stat the games himself.  Could be why there’s a difference.  At the HS level, official stats can be less than reliable.

Yes and I think Tim is actually doing this while broadcasting by himself so there is definitely and understanding if things are not the same.

Tim has access to the complete game film. He gets his complete stats after viewing the entire game film. He is able to get very accurate stats by the game films by being able to pause the tape to record the stats.

AAW does the same thing.  And I’ve done stats (for only one team) at games where AAW was broadcasting (and keeping stats) and his are on the money.  Have no idea how they do it.  Told AAW many times I am not near the multi-tasker he is obviously!

People blame the coach, but from where I sit, I wonder how much of an affect that 10:30 dismissal in “Smoketown” had on the Tigers performance tonight.

Cough. Cough. Cough.

Just when I thought you grew up.

Poor Character.

LCM played a good game.  Silsbee didn't play well enough.  It's simple really.

For me it's back in the box you go.

Don’t worry about CB. We are about the knock beaks off them. LCM old rivals are BC. Im ready for Friday night. Hopefully 4 good quarters. like I said we owe them!

It’s all in good fun, my man... I go to great lengths to make sure my trash talk is topical and relevant.

Besides... Silsbee self-glossed themselves as Smoketown. It’s not some garbage I made up on my own.

The Tigers will be back. It only takes two wins to get in and y’all shouldn’t have any problems with Cleveland. Huffman seems down this year, and we’re not exactly setting the world on fire. I don’t think the Tigers will have any problem getting motivated about facing us. Don’t sweat it.

Not correct.

1)  SOME, and I do mean SOME Silsbee residents/fans promoted this title.

Do not confuse some, by using Silsbee town name, as ALL.

2) Though you didn't make up the "garbage" you continue to use the moniker and help engrain the message.

Again, poor character towards MOST Silsbee fans.

58 points to LC-M? The Bears had only scored 63 total points in the 3 games played so far this year. smh

I really thought the Tiger defense was going to be better this year. Doesn't look to be the case.

Got to get better on that side of the ball or it will be a long and playoff free season.

Got to start playing as a team and not as individuals looking to post highlight videos. rolleyes

Does anyone know how badly Thomas was hurt Friday and if Silsbee lost any other players? The injuries have killed the Tigers this year.

Its been a bad two weeks for injuries.

Last count I had was four more Tigers suffered injuries in the LCM game.

A slight sprain.  Many expect him to play next week...

I personally think at this point in time he is more of a benefit defensively than offensively.  I love his style, downhill, but with the box being stacked like it is....

With much hesitation I think it might be time for a change.

You do realize that almost all players post their highlight videos.  Last year they did it on both sides of the ball.  This year is no exception. Posting highlight videos had nothing to do with the piss poor tackling that happened as a whole.  I do share your sentiment that if they don't shore this problem up, the playoffs may be missed..

    • I’m super excited for this game.  PNG has the team and game plan that will slow TH down.  No way we can stop them the entire game, but I feel if we slow them down we can win similar to what we did last year to Lake Creek and SOC.
    • Well Mustang fans it's time for my annual end of season rant. I've had so much company up here on the soapbox that I may have to start charging rent. After 3 years I don't think anything needs to be said. We all know what's wrong. We all know why. So what's the decision at the next board meeting? IMO, there's been enough imaginary success for the board to rubber stamp the Superintendent's vision for our future student athletes. #make every second count Due to soft scheduling and a weaker than normal district. The luck of knocking off 2 ranked opponents early when they were not healthy or still trying to figure it out. Also led to a premature ranking and a hollow DCTF weekly award. The 2 late season losses vs ranked teams proves what we know has been the biggest problem.  Football 19-15 .559 Baseball 9-35 .205 Basketball 19-35 .352 GBB 11-29 .275 Softball 1-22 .043 Volleyball 0-38 .000 Overall 59-174 .253   For anyone living in the district, I ask that you contact you're elected board members publicly and privately. Don't let them think this is exceptable. Be the solution to the equation. Not the divisor. This starts at the top and falls heavily upon those walking the halls. They deserve better.
    • I don't think it's 6-5 maybe 4-3
    • Sounds like a good idea, and something’s been needed for a long time. I know—where my kids & grandkids live now (DFW area)—schools are like revolving doors for athletic purposes. I don’t think the DPISD & LPISD option enrollment are anywhere like that. I assume it’s pretty above board since it was an arrangement apparently agreed to also by the state. I do know some kids that went to LPISD elementary schools in DP chose to go to DPHS because of the district rating. (Of course, at the time, DPISD and DP in general wasn’t very racially mixed like La Porte.) LPISD has a high number of kids on assistance programs compared to DP. Say what you will, it does make it more difficult for educational purposes and scores can reflect as much. LPISD is still rated high even with that challenge. Some of the kids that chose DPHS were very solid athletes that I’m sure LP would love to have had attend LPHS. Of course, part of the big rivalry between DP & LP has always been because DP ‘looked down’ on LP even though we worked side-by-side. Now that Shell DP refinery has been sold to PEMEX, DP is changing. Some aren’t happy about it. Some of us in LP are kinda tickled about it after the history.
