Black on Black Racism

Today however, the term Uncle Tom is a racial slur for Black men perceived as submissive to White people—Black men like me. I am perceived as submissive to White people because I do not submit to Black people. Group-think and identity politics have become such an integral part of Black communities today that what makes a person Black and proud isn’t their level of and love for melanin, but their positions on Black Lives Matter. For that reason, my opposition to Black Lives Matter makes me a traitor and an Uncle Tom.

In the nineteenth century, Black men like Frederick Douglass were called Uncle Tom as a compliment

I have not. I am not agreeing/disagreeing with what is in the article. I simply believe the title of the link is a little much. I try to avoid anything that uses the hard-"er"

I agree, but if we are going to have an open dialogue on race then it needs to be open... plus the author of the blog is black, so it is like when you overlook the lyrics of the rap songs

Black people are not a monolith. You can think as you please; as long as, you don't have self hatred. That's when it becomes detrimental. If one is trying to impress white people that's not good either.

White conservatives on this forum, the five or six that show up on a consistent basis, you guys are not trying to understand, you are trying to win some silly argument.  So you search the internet to find some article that some black guy wrote, then you copy and paste it here, even start a thread.  All the time you are on the outside looking in, and you look foolish doing it.   You have to live it to understand it.  The fact that you are white means you can't live it nor understand it.  African american culture looks simple on the surface, but it is quite complex.  Some blacks have a little money, many do not.  Some have white parents, mexican parents, many do not.  Many are raised by single mothers, some are fortunate enough to have their dads or step dads in their lives.

Black folks flip words and phrases quickly, almost a quick as they invent dance steps.  Popular dance yesterday was the molly rock, who knows what it is today?  Same thing with catch phrases.  The term uncle tom was played out at least forty years ago.  The only time I hear it is when I read it here.  Y'all need to catch up, but i don't think you really can, or want to.

Do you know what monolith means.? Look at the definition. My goodness.

In politics, blacks are as close to a monolith as you can get.  I think approx 93% vote Democratic every election.  Sure sounds monolithic to me.

And before you start ranting about the democrats are for the black person, take a moment and look, objectively, at what has become of the black race as a whole under the wing of the democrats.

Translation: if you're trying to kiss a white person's arse.

This one is up for being kissed.

What would it take to make you satisfied? What scenarios have to play out for you to stop your belly aching? Seriously, and don't mention Trump. You have had something up your arse for years. Don't blame Trump.

Then you can't possibly know what it is like to be a white person trying to deal with the likes of supposedly oppressed black people. Everything cannot always be someone else's fault. Accepting responsibility for the way you play life's hand is being an adult.

    • Uh oh MAGAS, any issues with this? Scott Bessent Seems to be textbook deep state with the soros affiliation.    Bond markets, and my investment accounts,  are liking the pick so far with rates down as investors breathe a sigh of relief. Reportedly he will take a softer approach to tariffs, which are inflationary and pass throughs to consumers, as all 1.5 of us on SETX know
