I remember that game. It was the first time I had ever been to Hemphill.  It was the battle of the Hornets.

Hemphill jumped out on top of Hardin, but they had one heck of a qb and big receiver.

They're much improved.  Not familiar with that District, but Hemphill is not the floor mat they were.  San Augustine, one of the top rated 2A-DI teams in the state, only beat them by 12 (34-22).   Closet game SA has had so far, and only team to score more than once on them.

It's called having a down year like every team has eventually. .  thing about it is we should still make the playoffs like we have for over 20 something years straight.

The UIL should get a percentage of statewide playoff t-shirt sales seeing how everyone basically makes the post season these days.

Hemphill is way improved. Coaching makes a difference. Like REB said they are the only team that scored more than a TD on SA. And imo SA has the talent this year to be playing in at least the state semis

If it was like it used to be neither corrigan or hemphill would b going to the playoffs..

If it were way back when, only Newton would make the playoffs in that district.

El Campo's Buzzy Keith came up with the plan to expand the playoffs to the top 2 finishers in District years ago. Now it's up to four.  Balfour must be making loads of money off patches sales!!
