The Silsbee Tigers will complete a three games road trip this Friday when they travel to play the Navasota Rattlers. The Tigers (1-4, 0-1) looking to not get further behind in the district race while the Rattlers (3-3, 1-0) looking to stay unbeaten in district. Should be a good ball game in Navasota this friday. TigerNation!!!

How good is Navasota this year?

I heard there uptempo offense is pretty good. Speedy receivers. I heard they lack stopping the run. So silsbee should put some points on the board. It will come down if they can keep up. When LCM played them at there house I thought we should have never went in OT with them  because we were the better team but they fought hard at home. We gave them  their first district loss at home in quite some time. I’m happy they are coming to Orange this year

Navasota is head and shoulders better than the nightmarish 2016 season. No, they’re nowhere good as the 2012 or 2014 teams.

Defensively, you’re right, we can’t stop the run!!! It’s been years since Navasota has struggled this mightily against the run.

Offensively, we are indeed a quick strick offense... speedy receivers and a much improved QB.

We’ve  lost 3 games by a combined 7 points. All, three games should have easily been won... Some poor coaching mistakes, penalties, and the play of the defense and we could be looking at a 6-0 Rattler team.

In the 1 point loss to Franklin, we scored late but left too much time on the clock for them to drive down to score. Yes, the ran they ball down our throats. They went for two to win the game with less than 10 seconds remaining. Same thing happened against Bryan, who by the way lost by 1 to College Station.. who by the way were a few point from beating power house Austin Westlake and a team that just knocked off state ranked A&M Consolidated. Against Bryan, we lost an OT heartbreaker on HC by 1 Point. The Rattlers elected to go for 2 instead of the extra point.

In the loss to  undefeated Magnolia West, 30-25, we were without of starting QB. We scored late but it was called back due to a penalty. By the way, West beat the previously unbeaten Brenham Cubs 44-21.

I compare scores at this point to help me understand how good we can be. Yes, we need to improve against the run. As is, we’re not a bad team at all.

I'm glad they improved.  I seen them last year and they were horrible.  Thiabwill be a good game.  Silsbee has shown flashes and then they've showed nothing at times.  Interested to see Silsbee wake up and play like they did vs. Jasper.

I want to see the Tiger team that was on the field before the storm. I want to see the swagger, the defense flying to the ball and gang tackling, I want to see some intensity, some attitude that was shown in practice and during scrimmage. I want to see a team come together and the seniors rally around the team and say we are better than this we have the tools all we have to do is apply ourselves on what we learn from the coaches. This team with the players we have and coaches can be extremely good. It's time to start saving the season and it starts this week. We are ONE!!! TigerNation!!!

Yeah they were horrible. But, they remained competitive.

Silsbee needs players to accept a leadership role.

By that I mean this:  Someone, anyone needs to bring this team back together.  I see a fractured group when you look beyond the hype.

It may not be there this year for many reasons and that will be a shame because at this time, with all the sad, heartbreaking events that are happening in this community, we need

something to rally around.

I think that if they look to someone who may not be the star stud, or even the upcoming one, then they just might find their identity again.

Dig deep young men.  Dont be afraid to step into a role, any role, that will bring this team and community together when it is needed most.

Hallmark of champions is heart and desire.  Let it out Tigers.

I hope this cry out is reached because it's desperately needed.  Let's get it.
