curiousgeorge Posted October 18, 2017 Report Posted October 18, 2017 Just Curious, If my child goes to school an hour before school starts for football practice, and then stays after school from 3:30 to 6:30 Mon-Wed. and sometimes on Thursday doing the math that equals 12 hours of practice. Does this exceed the 8 Hr. Rule? Quote
marionrobertmorrison Posted October 18, 2017 Report Posted October 18, 2017 Looks like it, but don't you want your child to use all they time they can to get better? BlackShirts5 1 Quote
curiousgeorge Posted October 18, 2017 Author Report Posted October 18, 2017 I am all for winning, but what happens if we get caught. Then all that extra time is for nothing. Also what are we teaching our Kids? It's ok to cheat until you get caught. Quote

Well, if you are worried about the program getting caught, then posting such activity in a public forum is exactly the right thing to do. smh Rebel 85 alum, prepballfan, AthleticSupporter - Jock and 7 others 10 Quote
curiousgeorge Posted October 18, 2017 Author Report Posted October 18, 2017 I guess you're right i should ask the UIL how to approach the situation. Thanks for the advice. No it's not Central. Quote

Tigers2010 Posted October 18, 2017 Report Posted October 18, 2017 I would report the infraction to the UIL and have my child quit the football team. I would not allow my child to play for a bunch of cheaters. Quote
Tigers2010 Posted October 18, 2017 Report Posted October 18, 2017 And, why would they practice on Wednesday? Most coaches should know that is church night. Ridiculous. AthleticSupporter - Jock 1 Quote

Stattrax Posted October 18, 2017 Report Posted October 18, 2017 I would hire a private investigator.. (Soulja will work). He is very good at sniffing out illegal practices and scrimmages. But in the mean time, I would take my child out of that school and home school him. You can always adopt several other kids and have your own football team. Or possibly get with Nederland parents. (once again Soulja can direct you). Call the U.I.L. and notify them of these horrible infractions. You can also find several media folk on here to report it on Live at 5 if needed. You might need to get a lawyer to sue the school as well in order to get your TIME back... Raider24, AthleticSupporter - Jock and Tigers2010 3 Quote

Raider24 Posted October 18, 2017 Report Posted October 18, 2017 This thread is ridiculous! Same as the PNG Defense Needs Help cause we're unhappy about our coaches having their head up their arse thread! Give me a freakin break!! BMTSoulja1 Posted October 18, 2017 Report Posted October 18, 2017 I also investigate 'Closed Practices' like that of a certain local 4a powerhouse squad a few years back.... Thank me later.... Quote
curiousgeorge Posted October 19, 2017 Author Report Posted October 19, 2017 At this point I have hired Ace Ventura to get to the bottom of this. Ron Burgundy is doing an expose on cheating coaches, and once again forums are about as useful as used toilet paper. Quote
oldschool2 Posted October 19, 2017 Report Posted October 19, 2017 I'm willing to bet that there's more to this than being said. Is it all "mandatory" practice time? When I was in school several of us went to the school and worked out an hour before school. Coaches were there and helped but it wasn't a required time to be there. Same thing went for after school. If we stayed after on our own time then it didn't count against the UIL 8 hour limit. There's no way this coaching staff is forcing players to attend a scheduled practice for 4 hours per day. They know the rules. Coaches may figure out ways to get extra time here and there but not to this extreme. I don't know the situation but I'm betting there's more to it.
