Its PNG for Christ’s sake!  They didn’t have dominate athletes and playmakers when Matt Burnett was there.   PNG has one of the richest football histories in Texas high school football, with a large participation rate!  Find 11 football players that are meaner than hell and teach them technique and how to tackle!

PNG has won a helleva lot of football games with the type of players they have today.

And it’s ok to get beat.  You ain’t gonna win every game.  But the philosophy of out scoring ppl 72-69 in the playoffs is a joke.  If you get beat, get beat with a decent defense!

You can't make athlete's out of them, but you can damn sure put them in a position to win. That hasn't happened.

Cant always outscore every opponent. You will eventually come head to head with someone who can stop you, and keep scoring.

I think most people knew this was going to happen. You need a really good defense to have chance after 1st couple of rounds. Without Shug, PNG would either barely squeeze into the playoffs or not make it. Y'al know that's the truth. They've had a good season.

Hard to win giving up 66. Honesty both sides of the ball looked out of sync all night. Defensively we are just not good at tackling. We needed to play mistake free and we just didn’t play a good game period.

Congrats on a good season to PNG and the kids.  Playing 13 weeks in Texas is no small feat and something to take for granted.

Just would like a legitimate change of playing for the ring and not giving up 69 and 66 points in 2 out of 3 playoff games.

In one sequence Carthage got possession and scored on the first play.  And on their very next possession the Bulldogs scored on their first play. On both occasions they took possession in their own territory.  How's that for a defensive breakdown?
