You keep PNG, Ned, Vidor, Baytown Lee, and probably add Dayton, Barbers Hill, and Cleveland. Crosby will most likely be 5a D1. Who knows though how the UIL will do things. Oh boy Cleveland that 105 Drive is terrible at night... but I agree with you on it being weaker. If Cleveland is in the district I wonder where the number will fall for Splendora? They are a border team kinda like lumberton on 5a div 2 or 4a div 1 right?

Clueless
If Matt Stepp projection is correct, Lumberton will be the smallest 5a D2 school in Texas. His projection for 5a D2 is 1125-1759 Lumberton 1125 Splendora 1145 Cleveland 1446 (growing big time) New 22-5a could be Barbers Hill 1560 Nederland 1546 Dayton 1511 PNG 1493 Cleveland 1446 Vidor 1333 Splendora 1145 Lumberton 1125 Baytown Lee ? The reason being is with Splendora and Cleveland. The UIL has mention that they are pushing for 8 to 9 team districts due to scheduling issues. The north Houston area schools are exploding, so there's not many 5a D2 schools to make a full district. Which means somebody is going to be in a jacked up district. Cleveland, Splendora, BH, Dayton, or Lee might be victims of the split.

That may be where Splendora/Cleveland may shift towards. Not sure where the rest of the teams will come from though.

Haven't been able to recently anyway. Aren't they normally in a battle with HF every year? HF couldn't even make the playoffs in D2. They should have a few 3 year starters and quite of few 2 year starters next year. With that and hard work they should do well in 4a-D1. That's a given...smaller classification are "worse" and thus easier to compete in compared to classifications above them...that goes without saying. I'm just saying that the idea of Lumberton making deep runs in the playoffs as a result of dropping in class simply isn't true.

I would say Lumberton, Ozen and Livingston would all be more competitive in 4A-Division 1, but in no way would it guarantee a playoff spot for any of the 3. The one good thing is they would feel better about scheduling 4A-Division 2 or even 3A-Division 1 schools in Non-District. Might help the appearance of that overall record.
