Next years UIL realignment

Any thoughts/speculations/rumors out there? Less than a year away!

Let me tell you the one I've heard.  Heard Kountze may move up to 3A!  Have they gained that many students since last realignment?  I know they are a large 2A, but did not know they were growing like that.

Haven't heard that. Buna is larger, for now. I think H-J might go back to 4A...and B-H will go 5A in a few years, even though they are barely 4A now.

There was some speculations quite a while back that Memorial and maybe even Lee would be dropping to 4A. If that were to happen I can see WB geeting thrown in with the Pasadena and Deer Park area schools.

I think Baytown Lee may drop to 4A with the new school in Baytown opening next year.

You know now that you mention it about a new school, I wonder if Humble's enrollment will drop. Atasocita opened this year without a Sr. class. They'll be full blown next year.

i think dayton is a perfect fit in the district they are in now.  i wish they could have been in that district when wos was still 4A.

They will still be in 5A for atleast one more year, but could drop in 08!

At one point this year Kountze had 412 students.  That is just 3 shy of the magic number.  They have a new middle school being built due to some crowding.  Baskeballwise they should hold their own but I'd hate to see them in football versus the Silsbees and WOSs.  They already struggle with 1A and 2A schools.

My only hope is that Dayton stays in 22-4A district.  With WOS leaving, this makes it strong again.  If WOS would join again, holy cow... what a district.  Maybe Lumberton keeps growing and moves to 5A... WOS moves back in with a different cutoff?  Doubtful since the numbers seems to move up and WOS seems to be pretty consistent enrollment... I just miss them in our district... was the bomb.  Always great having a perennial power in your district, don't matter how many they suit out, they are stout.

Lumberton is the smallest 4A now. Definitely growing, but they have years to go before moving to 5A.
