Hollyfield reaches 500

As has been his coaching style Robert Hollyfield coached his Evadale Lady Rebel Basketball Team to its 500th win this past Saturday in the Bill Tennison Memorial Tournament in Orangefield. As in  the past he did it without much fanfare and to be honest he really wasnt aware it was his 500th win. Probably because he has said he hasnt won any one of those games, they were all won by his players.

The game was a 47-40 win over Liberty for Third Place in the Tournament. Evadale has been playing larger schools all the while in his 20 years of coaching at Evadale. He has never had a losing season and has won 16 district titles in those 20 years. He will be the first to tell you his success comes from the program being the same all the way down into the elementary system. With assistant coaches who know his system. The kids know whats expected of them by the time they get to highschool. He thanked the over 100 different players he has coached in his 20 years and hoped he had made a difference in their lives.

So coach without much fanfare here is congratulations on the 500th win all with the Evadale Lady Rebels
