Deer Park coach retiring

Saw on FootballScoop that Matt Stepp tweeted that Chris Massey is retiring. More of the Houston-area but still close enough I think.

When we had Deer Park due to their involvement in 21-6A with West Brook and the Baytown schools, Coach Massey was always extremely helpful in getting me up to speed on the Deer.

Best of luck to him in retirement.  It leaves a big hole in Houston area football.

Met and fished with Coach Massey at a clinic in Jasper some 15 years ago.  Super great guy, and a great coach.  Long time O-Line coach at Katy when I met him.

Coach Massey is a great guy. Best wishes on retirement. The next head coach is already on the staff... Nolan Patterson. He applied for the Nederland job last year great guy, very smart on the offensive side of the ball. And he will keep the tradition going in DP.

Massey was one of my high school coaches and was a lot of fun back in the early 90's.

Deer Park hires formed alum and Iowa State QB Austin Flynn. Pretty good hire for DP. I believe he has been the OC for Grand View which is a NAIA power house these past few years. I expect big numbers of the offensive side of the ball and great QB play
