Is there another Newton on the team? 4. Sells knew he was going to have to be one of those 'dogs' this year going in. I can see Sells being that defensive spark. Quote

Thomas does too... Newton and C from last year had great feet... I think Sells and Thomas can be as good as them once the second half of district rolls around... DXTR 1 Quote

JimThorpe Posted December 21, 2017 Report Posted December 21, 2017 I'm just saying that from appearances it looks like 12 guards warming up before a game, 12 good guards mind. Quote
Kountzer Posted December 22, 2017 Report Posted December 22, 2017 Devin needs to play inside and let Bush and handle the outside. BADSANTA 1 Quote

Coach may come up with some unique small ball strategies. Maybe play everybody at and above the free thrown line in hopes of making the opposition bigs play defense out there. Quote

Kountzer Posted December 30, 2017 Report Posted December 30, 2017 I spoke to Yates alum George Walker Sr the other day. We talked about the old times when he played for Yates. Stretch Campbell was mentioned. He said he was going to meet Stretch later on. We also discussed another player from that '73 team, Donte Fulton. Donte grew up in Silsbee, I knew his parents, grand parents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was an army brat. He lived all over the place. They came back to Silsbee and he went to SHS for a semester his Jr year. His Mom got a job teaching at TSU and Donte transferred to Yates his Sr year, and played b-ball on that '73 team. Quote
