The Newton Eagles look to claim their 4th football state championship in school history as they take on the Gunter Tigers in the Class 3A, Division II State Championship Game tonight!

W.T. Johnston's Eagles, 14-0 on the season and champions of District 10-3A-II, reached the championship game traveling this playoff road:

Arp (Bi-District): 58-0

Rice (Area): 65-11

West Rusk (Regional Semis): 21-7

Waskom (Regional Finals): 45-6

Boling (State Semis): 56-28

 

The Tigers, 15-0 on the season and champions of District 6-3A-II, had this road to the title game:

Henrietta (Bi-District): 45-13

Daingerfield (Area): 38-3

Holliday (Regional Semis): 48-7

New Diana (Regional Finals): 62-13

Canadian (State Semis): 56-27
