I predicted earlier on that they might split. I know EC is probably better on paper but I’m going to stick with that.

EC should win this one. That being said, it’s never been easy for EC to beat Kountze. This team is a little different, they have an edge to them. IMO EC’s depth is the difference. They pull away in the 4th. EC needs to get the tempo of the game up.

Looking at EC's record it would seem to indicate even through bad games they find a way to win. A sign of a really good team.  But Kountze always seems to turn it up this time of year. Should be interesting.

Friday night is going to be two big matchups in the district race. Both Kountze and EC’s boys and girls are clearly the top two teams. They are all four undefeated in district play. The girls might be as good of a game as the boys game, possibly better. All four teams feature some of the best coaches in arguably the state. EC Lady Bucs’ Michalko has over 1,000 career wins, and Williams, Joubert, and Sutherland need no introduction. Going to be a fun night of basketball in Winnie!

I've seen both these clubs and I gotta give EC the nod. Kountze as always has to score off turnovers and I don't see them turning EC over much. I'll say EC 70 Kountze 60.

give me east chambers by 10 at home in this contest and i also like kountze to win at home, but would not be shocked at all if ec wins both games. from what you all are saying EC is really good and should have a great opportunity to go deep in the playoffs

If you like fast pace basketball, then this is the game for you. One of the best rivalries in the state of Texas. With both teams being 4-0 in district, I expect this to have a playoff atmosphere to it.

I think Kountze has played the tougher schedule.  I think the game comes down to the final minute of play.  I am still going with EC though.

It’s died off the past couple years... it’s not near as much as a rivalry as it was back in 06-10. But looks like things are picking back up. I miss the matchups in the old gyms
