I just took Javelina's prediction and just added the merger school to it.  It's possible though.  I would prefer a 8 team district.

So would the UIL.  Now that the merger is a reality, I could see UIL shooting Sterling down into the Pasadena/La Porte/Deer Park district.

I can't locate the 6A cutoff numbers.  Would Atascoita be D1 or D2?

6A doesn't do DI and DII splits to start the season.  They determine that by the enrollment of the Top 4 finishers.

But if that is the new district, Atasocita would be DI if they make the playoffs as they would be the largest school in the district.

Why wouldn’t they move both the Beaumont schools into the DP NS LP district?

 

If PA ever gains numbers back to put them in 6a that will be 3 in this area which they will hold a lot more weight come realignment time.

I think all the new schools on the west side of Houston opening pushes east and north sides of Houston into region 2

I think the new 5a2 will be bh, Dayton, png, vidor, Lee,  crosby,nederland, Cleveland.    Or the uil will go off the wall which can be expected and send png, ned,  vidor to a complete different district with likes of manvel, Texas city, and others in that area

Agreed. Playing schools north of Dallas in the first three rounds is pretty ridiculous. But, I suspect it’ll happen again due to them trying to fill districts north of us. And since we refuse to play our Golden Triangle neighbors during pre-season, I feel like we’ve been in football purgatory the last two years. It just doesn’t feel right.
